HALESOWEN on SATURDAY
HALESOWEN on SATURDAY
It's along way down the M5 to Halesowen.
How many Darlo fans would you guess would make the trip?
They want to ensure they have enough pies!

Re: HALESOWEN on SATURDAY
DAFTS have the guide to Saturday's game.
I'm coming down from Nottingham by train-not sure best way once I've reached Birmingham New Street-whether to go by bus or train.

I think from new street you need to walk to snow hill station then train to Cradley Heath which is about 2 miles away from the ground...sounds a pain to do.

Re: HALESOWEN on SATURDAY
I would guess at 200 maybe 250 Darlo fans as a rough estimate on Saturday.

Going on the Supporters Coach, looking forward to it.
Re: HALESOWEN on SATURDAY
Hello folks, Yeltz fan here in peace!
At Halesowen we look forward to your visit on Saturday. You'll receive a friendly welcome - we're a nice enough bunch.
For those visiting for the first time you'll find a traditional non league ground, plenty of seating for those unable to stand as well. There are two entrances to the ground. For those driving down you'll be able to find street parking near to the Old Hawne Lane entrance. Those travelling by train, get the train from B'ham and get off at Cradley Heath and bus it to Halesowen. If there are a few of you a taxi will cost you about £6/7 at a guess. Alternatively get the No9 bus from B'ham and it'll drop you outside the ground (40 mins on the bus though)
For those of you that like your real ales you'll be spoilt for pre match pubs with no less than FIVE real ale pubs within 5 minutes walk of the ground. My favourites are the Wagon & Horses, King Edward (next to the ground) and Hawne Tavern. (My advice is trying the Bathams).
There's a nice bar inside the ground too, open from 12 and it'll show the England game after our game. Please pop and see me in the clubshop or selling the 50/50 tickets and say hi.
Hope you all have a safe trip down
Rob

We usually cause sell-outs of pies.
Depending on weather, I would estimate 100-200 travellers. It's unpredictable as when in the Football League we had hundreds of exiled fans (DAFTS: check website) based all around England and into Wales.
Could be a far bigger away turn-out, but it's hard to gauge, because we have been playing in the North only for the last 3 seasons and some exiles may assume a far poorer standard of football down the pyramid below the Football League.

Waggon & Horses Pub gets the best report on the DAFTS website review for Halesowen. Also map and directions. Regular service for all Darlo and other fans.

Re: HALESOWEN on SATURDAY
Really looking forward to the game, a hour away for me. Having watched thee games last season (St.Neots, Salford away and Northwich at home) I am looking forward to a WIN. As I have posted on here before, my attendance at games is usually the kiss of death to the team. I remember Hinckley in the cup.
Re: HALESOWEN on SATURDAY
The Wagon and Horses, many moons ago used to be the changing rooms for the Yeltz games - I'm sure the owner will tell that tale on Saturday.Neil Johnson wrote:Waggon & Horses Pub gets the best report on the DAFTS website review for Halesowen. If anyone is using the coach for the first time this season and is not already a full or 'Travel Club' member of Darlington FC Supporters Group, then you'll be required to pay £5 on the day to join the Travel Club and that will cover you for the rest of the season.AndyPark wrote:Going on the Supporters Coach, looking forward to it.

We seem to receive a more positive welcome in this league in comparison to the last.
