The future of the Roll of Honour

Post by Darlo_Pete » Sat Jul 25, 2009 9:43 am

Well after a few weeks of the new MB, I can now state that the ROH did not die with the old MB. It will continue for now. However, I do realise that there are a few people that don't want to be included in the ROH. So if you really wish not to be included, then please respond to my other post. Due to having been away on holiday until now, there may not be an update before the end of this month.

Ah, but Hilly you know those are just total posts, and dont take into account Petes strict vetting procedures.

Instead of just counting each valid post (i.e. football-related; suitable for children), why not assemble a panel of judges to evaluate each post and give it a score so that each post can gain a maximum of (let's say) 5 points, rather than just one for each post? That way, the roll of honour would encourage people to make more interesting and valuable contributions. This would definitely be a sensible use of people's time.

There should also be a ROH hat and scarf that you have to wear at every home match and you get to be ROH mascot on the pitch and a mug shot on the big screen - plus Scott gets you written in to the programme.

 Poor Pete would have a nervous break down if he got banned.

It's simple DOTU there is a friend & foe feature on this site if you don't want to read Pete's posts put him on your foe list and you won't see his posts. And if you don't like the ROH when you see it skip past it, simples (oh god now I'm doing it).

It's simple DOTU there is a friend & foe feature on this site, just add Pete to your foe list. I did it for quaker4life and it's working like a charm! :)

Why don't you do a best/worst thread of the month vote rather than counting up everyone's posts? Surely that would be a better way of highlighting who is contributing to the boards.

E.g. for this month...
this was a great match report - viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14
and this was a good read - viewtopic.php?f=2&t=51&p=884
whereas stuff like this is lame - viewtopic.php?f=2&t=285

Just ditch the whole thing Pete for Christ's sake, or rather should I say for Pete's sake. It's just so nerdy.

A totally pointless exercise now has even less of a point to it when all the posts get counted anyway. Bin it Pete, its a waste of time.
