Taken from DFCSG website:

Just a reminder of the collection at Heritage Park on Saturday 17 October in support of ‘Smalls for All’, which is a very worthwhile cause.

We’re asking our many female fans to take the opportunity to de-clutter their undies drawers of any ‘gently worn’ bras and bring them to the match against Stourbridge. There will be collection points pitch-side of the turnstiles.

‘Smalls for All’ is a young charity set up in 2010 to help vulnerable women and children in poorer areas of Africa. One of the many ways the charity helps is to address the lack of underwear. Not only is it a health and hygiene problem for many poor African communities, as women often only own one pair of tattered pants or have none at all, but underwear is also seen as a status symbol and offers a degree of security. Women who can afford underwear tend to be seen as having someone who cares for them – a husband, brother or father. They are not on their own so they are not seen as vulnerable.

Our male supporters can also get involved by plucking up courage and speaking to their female friends, family and work colleagues to ask for their help.

If you are female and don’t suffer from a cluttered underwear department or male that hasn’t yet plucked up courage to call for help but you would still like to get involved, then here’s the brief (excuse the pun!). All you have to do is to pop into one of our many large clothes retailers and buy a packet of ladies’ or children’s pants and bring them to the match. They must be new and sized for children aged 3-15 or ladies size 8-16.

Darlington Football Club volunteer, Stacey Fletcher, works for Holiday Hypermarket and she will arrange for our collection to be despatched to “Smalls for All” along with those collected by the staff of Holiday Hypermarket.

If you wish to know more about “Smalls for All”, go to their website:

http://www.smallsforall.org/

By the way if anyone wants to buy new, at Primark it is only £2.50 for a pack of 4 briefs.
So if you're coming to the match, please contribute one way or another
