Pitch inspection 9am Saturday 9th

On Official site, pitch inspection already planned for Saturday.
Might as well make alternative plans already. looking at the forecast it's got no chance.

Not sure if the mighty sponge will help get rid of enough water for the game on Saturday to get the go-ahead, sadly the weather is king, what will be will be. Contingency plans are in the making as I type. Oh how much I want to go to a game at heritage park, homesick for a game,

shame we couldnt get a friendly on at blackwell or somewhere in darlington. They keep bar takings and charge £5.00 which the club keeps. would bring in some revenue badly needed and would be quite popular assuming of course drfc aint playing and pitch is ok lol

Trying to concentrate on a half full glass, rather than a half empty one, the jetstream is moving south and, within a few days, we should be in for a dry, if colder, remainder of January.

It would be nice to talk about football for a change, rather than the weather.

In days gone by
On a Friday night
I'd ponder on team selection

But lately I dread
On leaving my bed
The 9am pitch inspection

It's never good news
As the Ref gives his views
"It's off" he says "See you never"

The Programmes are chucked
The pie order's fucked
The turnstiles lay silent forever .............

Academic really, weather has been atrocious and there is more wet weather forecast for Saturday, before it drys up and gets a lot colder.

No mention of reversing the fixture has been made by the club as far as I'm aware.

Matlock have a second string game on their pitch so not possible.

We would be able to get priority over Matlocks second string if it was decided to reverse - but I suspect it is harder to get a reversal approved if it affects someone else's fixture.

I can't believe no-one's picked up on the original fat cat's poetry; it's brilliant, rhyme and pentameter perfect! More please.

Not looked over to HP this week been off today but no chance it has chucked down every day.

Looking forward to the Whitby game now, cold but dry next week so it will give the pitch a bit of rest bite.

The pitch has had more of a rest, than it would get in a summer break.

I might have commented but I am averse to poetry. ( I'll get my coat)

At least it's not frosty this morning, unfortunately that won't help.
