Just read it properly and realised you said the total figure might not be given tonight, I blame the shock of hearing the 1k figure dropped in the bucket in £20 notes!

If it was in a plastic bag then it was probably Shaun Campbell and Doug Embleton.

Joejaques, are you old enough to remember "Top Cat" ? On the opening credits he used to drop a coin into a charity box, then quickly pull it back out again by use of a piece of elastic. Not that Raj Singh would ever consider a move like this!

The more I think of it - to put £1000 in cash into the fund is stunning. I mean, it's A LOT OF MONEY, just think what else he (or she) could have done with it.

If we get that close we won't have any shortage of people to make the target.

I hope he didn't reach into the wrong pocket and roll up to a shop later to buy something with it only to find he had a roll of 50 fivers!

Just for you Les
Today's total was £1436

This now takes the total for the season through £5500.

Very impressive, with this going towards the cost of ground development alongside 500 club cash we should be well on our way towards the 30k target.

I am assuming we are not announcing exactly where we are with this bit to avoid any slow down in take up or the other side we might just be waiting for a certain point to advise where we are.

Surely the person holding the bucket would have seen the donation?

Old enough to remember "Top Cat"? Kid, I'm old enough to remember David Jason's TV debut in "Do Not Adjust Your Sets", kids TV 5:25 teatime. My first cartoon hero, Captain Fantastic and his arch enemy Mrs. Black and 'er 'Orrible Handbag. :D

Fantastic whoever made that... even if he's rich as hell and a grand to him is like 50p to me, that's a massive gesture...

Have the Echo not picked up on this? This is a good story. They could try and find out who the mystery person is.

I would assume the person wanted to remain anonymous otherwise they wouldn't have put the money into the club that way surely

I thought we were promised updates on both sides, but I am more concerned with following this week's games.

If the club is not reaching the targets I am sure folk can dig out a lot of small change donations "Have a skeggy into the sofa", "Tidy out the pockets", "Raid kids piggy banks", "Empty the swear box", "Run a domino card", "Sell grandma", "Bob a Job".............
