Lucy Oliver

Post by HarrytheQuaker » Wed Apr 13, 2016 5:54 pm

I walked in the ground last night passed a Darlo fan and to my dismay I heard a gentleman about 50 say loudly.... Oh fuck it's a WOMEN referee.... She is one of the best I've seen and she reffed very well last night, every credit to her..

Thought she had a good game including the decision not to send the keeper off

Unfortunately couldn't make the game last night, but I have seem her at various times at HP over the last few seasons and in my opinion she is the best ref, we get at the levels we've been playing at. You normally don't notice her when she does ref, which is always a good sign. If she has the ambition to ref at higher levels, then she has more than enough ability.

Best referee we've had this season, hardly noticed her last night, let the game flow and I don't remember her getting a decision wrong

She did a good job, far better than the normal rubbish have to put up with.

She's head and shoulders the best ref at this level. We notice her more because she's a girl, so if she mucks up, we'd probably be all over it. But she hasn't put a significant foot wrong in any game I've seen her.

Also, she controls the flow of the game well too. And best of all she interacts with the players throughout the game, which keeps them on their toes.

Is she related to the premier div ref Michael Oliver?

They're married!

Very good ref. She'll go much higher up the pyramid than the Northern Prem.

Married to him. Somehow.

Agree with all that has been said, never had an issue with her decisions. She's generally been good to us in terms of results as well, so maybe I'm biased.

Might have flashed a few more cards earlier, but wasn't helped by her assistant who didn't flag any pushes on Cartman & Thommo then got the offside rule wrong most of the night. She would have been even better without his help.

In relation to the penalty, she asked the linesman twice if it was a red card before giving the keeper a yellow

She is noticed for her good decisions and for stopping the childish whining of players with a maternal stare.

Consistent decisions, no posing, no power trip.

Hope she is in Darlo's league next season, as she has been by far the best ref. of the season.

I'm sure that with great reviews of her performances, she'll be moved up at least one league.

which shows how good a ref she is to remain composed and consult her officials if she was unsure... the linesman on the main stand side looked at her for every single decision, he didn't know what day it was.

With my Swansea hat on, can we swap her and her husband?!
