WELDON Performance

Post by Rufusuk » Sun Apr 17, 2016 6:22 pm

I thought he took 5 -10 minutes to 'get up to speed', but then I thought he had a superb game. Well done to come into a pressure match and play so well.
Gives us another good 'option' for the remaining games.

Yeah excellent, for a lad who hasn't had too much football he was great, good job too cos we needed him - can't remember those pinpoint left foot diagonals when he last played mind - great assist for the first goal and we were unlucky not to take advantage of some of the others

Yeah he played well. Gray clearly rates him, and you could see why today.

He also frees up Galbraith to play CM this week if need be

Yes he looked completely at home, when he came on didn't look overawed at all.

Did we sign him originally in our Northern League season?

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

I believe so. Spent the first 2 years with the club 2 weeks away from fitness.

Today though, i thought he was a great replacement. His cross field balls were causing havoc all day.

Signed for us in the 1st season of the Evostik. Gray clearly likes the lad and he has travelled to Nantwich mid week to not even get a game.

Weldon signed for us ahead of our debut season in the Evo-Stik Division One North. Played well but suffered ankle and knee injuries, and I think he was transferred to Durham City in January 2014. He regained full fitness and signed for Sunderland RCA at the back-end of last season but was around our squad also. Played in a number of games for us in pre-season but then signed for Ashington.

The way he got back to pressure their lad in the late one-on-one was quality, made up a massive amount of ground when the rest of our defence looked like they were wading through treacle. Their lad got nervous, then got a bobble and put it wide, but Weldon forced him into that.

I agree, he certainly covered some ground to get back and did enough to pressure their lad into putting it wide. That was a major moment as it was still only 1-1 at the time if I recall correctly.

I thought it was in the last 5 mins and was 2-1.
Mind, it was yesterday, and the marbles are going...

Gray & his team rate Weldon: His problem has been maintaining fitness. If he does that would not surprise me to see him continue with us.

I recall he was included at the end of last season, and did a job then also.
