Re: Long distance fans
Check out the DAFTS website. We had 600 Darlo exile addresses registered, mostly down south in the 90's.
There will probably be the usual home & away meet-up weekends. Fancy a Kiddy trip, if they are classed as "Northern" next season.

Supported Darlo for over 30 years.
I moved to Liverpool due to work in 1998 but have still followed the team whenever and wherever I can.
Pleased to see at least 6 or 7 away games in the North West next season.

Re: Long distance fans
Started supporting Darlo in 2006 from the far flung shores of Murton, after being something of a freelance fan for years previous, watched Sunderland as a nipper with my Granddad, when I lived in Durham, my group of friends supported Sunderland, Newcastle and Hartlepool, so I would go about watching various games of football...
Since 2012, I started watching Darlo more, though the last few years I have knocked football on the head, dealing with personal problems and recently a close bereavement, I was there last Thursday with the future Mrs Fozz to see us win the league, I am currently in the process of brain-washing Mrs F's little girl into supporting Darlo to the point she is now telling everyone she supports the Mighty Darlo, she cant wait to get a top and is currently looking forward to going to a game in the Summer.
Despite being a bit of a bell end at times, I have had to deal with arseholes, I have not spoke to one friend since Wembley as he let me down a week or 2 before and another cock who said not to bother talking to him until I changed my alliegence to his home town of chimp chokers(twat)
Originally supporting Darlo came about through bereavement, as in, I was took to a few matches and it got me out of the mess I was in and I have used football again as an escape from a recent bereavement

Re: Long distance fans
I managed to attend 4 home and 5 away games (& 2 postponements) on my visits over from Norway, seeing 9 home & 18 away goals for Darlo in the process.
That included the surprises of 2 Salford comebacks and the Nantwich romp.
Great to have such on-field entertainment from the team after travelling so far.
8 wins and 1 defeat, but at the time of the Marine home penalty debacle I hadn't bought my lucky scarf from the charity shop. Black, Red & White cheques with small skull & cross bones (some Goth design)

Lol yeah it was a terrible night.
One of my mates in Wolverhampton is getting married. And he asked me to be the best man. So taking around 6 weeks off to come back to the old country and see some footy again

Re: Long distance fans
Im a Manc who has followed City all his life.
When I was a kid I wrote off to football teams for autographs and Darlo sent me autographs AND a set of programmes.
I decided they would be a team I would look out for and watched them for the first time in a 0-2 away win in the League Cup at Sheff Wed in 1975.
I dont do many home games(only went to Feethams twice)but have always followed them when they played anywhere in Merseyside,Cheshire,Lancs,Yorkshire,Derbys or Notts.
Doing a lot more since they came up from the NL as work and family is easing more from a few years back and really enjoying being part of it.
Meet some amazing fans on my days out watching them, their loyalty is amazing when compared to some PL fans.

I was there at Hinkley. I should have stayed in the club bar.sloth2 wrote:hope soDarlo_Pete wrote:Hope the weather is kind to you, great effort.sloth2 wrote:Will be flying in from Melbourne Australia with my brother for a few games in December

Absolutely no comparison with the new Darlo team and the rubbish players the club managed to field that night.
