club has closed...all going off right now!

Post by isitouryear » Mon Jul 27, 2009 11:47 am

my mate just went up to ticket office not long ago, its all gone off, the administrators have closed the club, they have just sacked all staff(after they have worked the past 5 months for nothing), and sent everyone home saying they are shutting the gates. basically the administrators are furious that they are losing the money from weds friendly and have told the staff that have come back that it wasnt them who brought them back so raj has to pay them, and raj has told admin they have to pay them so they have got rid of them, and the admin have got rid of the current staff coz no money to come in. all staff have been sent home and club is closed. just hope raj can resolve this matter asap!

This sounds about right to me . .

Why is this club always such a shambles? It breaks my heart it really does.

just called my mate who works for the football in the community, he said all the staff had been sacked, the administrator was locking the doors and sent everyone home. looks like its up to raj now i would think to make sure the deal goes through, the admin gets paid and brings the staff back within 2 weeks!
The fact that someone picked the phone up at the club doesnt mean im wrong, someone might just still have been there AND I LOVE AND SUPPORT THE CLUB AND WOULDNT LIE ABOUT SOMETHING LIKE THIS

The bullshit flag is no longer needed :( although it does sum up the administrators pretty well

funny how you all think your so clever but why would i lie. the lad who went to ticket office who told me also knows tommo the kit man and he got a phone call at training ground telling him the same and that they had been told everyone at stadium had been finished by the administrator but no-one could get hold of raj to find out what they should do (as in the football staff)

I would call bullshit, but it seems all too likely.

I doubt that it is complete bullshit - I've been told admin were furious that the club had cancelled the friendly and have had a meeting at the club today - but lets wait till they make a statement clearing things up before we go into panic mode.

Surely the administrators will recognise the importance of keeping the fans fully informed of the state of the club and its finances?

It's not necessarily bullshit, but I've raised the flag early just in case.

Even though it would normally sound like something very unlikely to happen, with this admin team anything is possible.

the new company will be the company (Darlington FC 2009) that is set up to take over once the old company is liquidated. interesting that wages are already being paid out of that company though.

the new company is not registered to the administrators but to a resedential address in Whickham, Newcastle, the same address that Stockport County's new company is registered to, so presumably some solicitor that deals with reforming football clubs

That said, the solicitor that was supposed to be forming the new company were Walker Morris of 12 King Street Leeds, so not quite sure whats going on there.

Depending on who owns the new company that the employees are apparently now receiving payment from would depend on whether the adminstrators could actually sack them.

I may have got this completly wrong, but does it really matter that much that the admin have done this, players and management are not getting paid until the deal with singh goes through anyway. We have no game at home until the Leeds game which means that no football side business will be carried out until a week before then.
Once the new company is created and Singh is in charge then business will start again. Any money that is presently made by the club has gone straight to the administrators so what is the point of having the Boro game to pay them more money and depriving the club of much needed funds. (like i said i could be wrong).

It isn't crap. It is true. Staff have been sent home and have been told there isn't money to pay them. Seriously.

When staff that aren't apparently aren't getting paid anyway are getting told where to go yes I'd say this matters!

there needs to be an investigation done into the administrators by the FSA or whoever governs that sort of thing - despite at least £80k being made from the sunderland & newcastle friendlies there is no money to pay the staff? how can that be so - what has that money been spent on then?
