Alan White
Alan White
Joins the ex Darlo contingent at Spennymoor as player coach.
Re: Alan White
Wasn't expecting that one.
Offer to play a bit too good to turn down or we can't afford to carry another person who is just a coach?

Re: Alan White
Got an offer from Spenny not sure he got one from Darlo, no real decision for Whitey to make at that point.lo36789 wrote:Wasn't expecting that one.

Re: Alan White
It'll please a small but vocal minority that White has gone. Always gave 100% when he pulled on the shirt and although he did overstep the mark on occasions, players like him are few and far between.

Re: Alan White
Have to admit Robbo that I was never Whitey's biggest fan, but I am sad and surprised that he's gone to Spennymoor. Thought he was destined for coaching with us, especially the youngster's.

Re: Alan White
Seems a bit surprising .... I wonder if the pushing of the linesman created a bit of bad feeling between MG and AW?
Or as lo says, maybe another year with a chance of playing a bit of footy was too good an offer to turn down.

Can't see him getting much play time, unless they hit injuries or suspension problems.

Who is to say he won't be back at some point in the future.Darlo_Pete wrote:Have to admit Robbo that I was never Whitey's biggest fan, but I am sad and surprised that he's gone to Spennymoor. Thought he was destined for coaching with us, especially the youngster's.
I'm probably out of date, but is Foster still at Spennymoor? If so, the Foster/White partnership reunited!

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Re: Alan White
Probably more of a loss on the coaching side as like others have said I cant see him playing much in our side. Don't know what his chances of that are at Spenny but time will tell. Best of luck Alan.
Re: Alan White
Disappointed that no-one here in the Forum has wished him luck in his new role as he has been a great servant to Darlington Football Club, especially during our surge up the leagues. To be fair, his best playing days are behind him, but his personality and aggression could be a great asset in his new role as coach. All the best for the future, Alan.
Re: Alan White
Good luck to Whitey, great player for us in all his spells and being from the town it clearly meant a lot to him.
Nice for him too leave with the club going in the right direction on the back of two promotions after he left after the debacle that was the 2009/10 season last time.
All the best in the future, except if/when his new club come up against us.

Re: Alan White
True legend and warrior. What he may have lacked in skill he made up for in passion and commitment.
I still believe his input to fitness helped the players to perform the way they did in the latter half of the season.
Good luck Alan

Re: Alan White
Good to see Darlo have now officially thanked Whitey for his contribution over the his various spells with us. As Tezza has said I am sure that off the field in those last few weeks of the season he played an important part. Good luck to him and Spenny even though they are clearly still our biggest rivals!
