Darlo Pete

Post by Jamoy » Sat Aug 27, 2016 8:25 am

I don't often post, but I am on the board numerous times each day.
What I am seeing recently is a constant attack on Dalo Pete's posts.
Now I agree that sometimes they are stating the obvious, but he is a passionate Darlo supporter as anybody else who frequents these boards, and he should be able to comment without being constantly quoted and dissed.
Everybody has their own opinions as we are all individuals, and we should show some respect.

I'm certain that Pete is quite thick skinned by now about comments made towards him. they tend to be about his comments and not the type of vitriolic, personal stuff we used to see on here. I've known Pete for many years and found him to be a good natured pleasant bloke who is wholly committed to Darlo and has followed them through thick and thin for more years than some posters have been alive. Don't upset him too much though or he might bring back the dreaded Roll of Honour!

Am not happy about this why were we not allowed a vote on the design which quite frankly is................................
As a PS I have never met Pete but his posts do sometimes amuse me so I have no problem with him.

Why has the club not made a statement on this issue?

What is the status of the shirts. I have not had an email telling me of the progress, surely we must have updates. I know everybody wants to know the status.
People do not invest in buying shirts without knowing the status of them.

If the club want us buy a shirt printing press to save money we could all meet up at Blackwell Meadow & build one after we have moved the pipe.

Does anyone know the stutus of the shirts ?

Another shirt not ready for the start of the season or my holiday to the Costa del sol.

Pete enjoys the attention his nonsense opinions bring.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Surely we should be marketing these as "I am darlo Pete" in "I am the stig "style, could be a good money maker for the B2D!?!!

Thanks for the kind comments, as merseysid says I'm a long time fan of Darlo, for around 42 years and I've seen a few ups and more downs than the vast majority on here. I've had the pleasure of knowing and meeting many of you and the displeasure of a few of you. But at the end of the day, we are all Darlo fans and the love for our club is the most important thing that we have in common.

Darlo Pete's posts have been 'attacked' since the dawn of time. It's nothing new.

Below is from July 2009
Darlo_Pete wrote:Blimey I never knew that inflation has hit 50%. Bought my usual mince pie & 2 sausage rolls, handed over the usual fiver and waited for the change. I was then asked for a further 40p  The pies are exactly the same as last year, but mysteriously they've gone up from £1-20 to £1-80, which in my opinion for a average mince pie is pretty pricey.
To which Quakerz replied

You moaning c****.

You'd pay more than that at most other football grounds. Moaning bastards.

This is why the club makes no money because it daren't charge a proper price for pies because of c**** like you lot.

At least DP gives us more of a mention than BBC Look North / Echo & sometimes is right!
