Hmmmm. Aspin + Nogan were at the Chorley game, and then Gillies, who Gateshead wanted to keep last season, is suddenly unavailable.

I'm hope I'm putting 2 and 2 together and making 5.

Making more than 5 I think. He went off injured at FC United.

Kiddie are very dangerous. Rapid, strong and good touch. Their goal was a great strike. I'll be amazed if they don't score again having said that I think they've only had 2 shots in the first half, we've missed 3 golden opportunities. Our passing, control and finishing hasn't been good enough.

Huge crowed, definitely the biggest of the season. If there was 1600 the other week there must be at least 1800 here tonight! In first half the seats behind the goal were as busy as I've ever seen, the tin shed and bank were definitely busier than normal.

On another note Steve McClaren is here.

Can't believe Tez put it over the bar from 6 yards! Anything we get from this game will be a bonus as they're very strong.

Quality first half but Kiddie are a bit sharper than us. Still in it though.
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883

Gillies is in seats behind goal.

FT 0-1

Sounded like we had chances but it didn't fall for us and Kiddie took one of the few chances they had.

Onwards...

Didn't deserve to lose that, especially after hitting the bar and having 2 cleared off the line.

4-3-1-2 just didn't work and hasn't worked so far this season. We just looked too narrow. It didn't work against Altrincham, we ride a bit of luck against Chorley and it didn't work tonight. We look much, much better playing a 4-4-2.

Deserved a point, they had the first half, we had the second. Keeper made a blinding save and we had about 20,000 corners. Good crowd and probably the most noise I've heard at HP. I think most went home happy with the performance, it was a good open game.

Think we were unlucky tonight. on another day we will take our chances.
Felt sorry for Marrs, he was getting over run in the 1st half. No body in front of him so he had to try and defend against their full back and left sided midfielder..He should have got more help from midfield.
2nd half we got better, especially when Mitchell and Nowakowski came on..I thought we were better balanced.

Think we need another midfielder because Leon Scott is not good enough I said it last season he wasnt good enough for that league and he certainly isn't for this league and heard quite a few people around me finally starting to say the same things ...... Marrs was left to defend against there winger and right back far too many times and it's been happening in the last few games just don't know why we haven't sorted that yet

But apart from that thought we where unlucky not to get a point and hopefully we get back to winning ways against stockport

We deserved a draw tonight but make no mistake, they had the best players we've come across so far this season (and indeed since we've moved to HP) although Chorley's team work was light years ahead.

Portas was a bit anonymous for the first 40min, Thompson's defensive work rate isn't good enough (it could be fitness related?), the "passing" to Hardy in the first half was shocking there was very little he could do, Beck is a good player but he needs to be professional and learn to take a foul

I agree that the formation doesn't work.

I heard plenty of "shite"s and "useless" from the vocal know nothing's on the way to the car.

Well some people can't see past the result. There were a lot of people who gave an enthusiastic ovation to the players as they left the pitch. There was no question of lack of effort, just as it has been every game since we went part time. It's been excellent from that first game against Bishop right through and I really appreciate it.

Most people I spoke to/seen were proud the lads kept going and with a bit of fortune should have had a point, don't think we deserved anything more.

I thought we lacked creativity tonight, hence our best chances coming from set plays, but Kidderminster were a very good team who were well drilled, no doubt practicing all week in regards to game plan/formation.

One thing about this team, it doesn't give in or stop trying for that they deserved to be clapped off.

I was following their Twitter and they felt they used their Get Out of Jail card tonight.

Their manager also praised Darlo...

"It is a really, really tough place to come and we gave them a lot of respect.

"You can see they're very organised; they work for each other and they just kept coming and coming and didn't give up.

Was at tonight's game. You lot looked good and arguably deserved a point from that game. The Kidderminster keeper was brilliant though and I felt they defended well throughout. Can see them and yourselves being playoff contenders this season - Good Luck

That's a fair summary but I think you're being generous saying Galbraith's sitter was from 15 yards out.

Ps £4 in? Are you only a child?

Cheers mate. I'll make a quick edit of that later! I'm only 17 pal. Think I was supposed to pay adult price (Unless U18s is classed as a child at the club) but gave the turnstile operator a £20 note and was given £16 in change. :shh:
