Stephen Thompson
I could be wrong, but I think Stephen is set to make his 200th appearance for the club on Sunday against Halifax - the first player to do so under MG.
Certainly had a big impact since joining in 2012, averaging around a goal every 3 games.
He was simply unplayable in our debut season in the Evo-Stik (13/14), edge of your seat player whenever he had the ball in or around the box.
Well done to him!
Leon Scott is the next one, he will need to feature in 14 of our remaining 20 matches this season to break the 200 mark.

Re: Stephen Thompson
Few eyebrows raised when we paid money for him when we were in the Northern League, but it has been money well spent in my opinion. When he is on it even at this level he looks a very good player, and has taken each step up in his stride.
Same with Galbraith, transfer fee paid for him when we were in the Northern League but has turned out to be a great signing and money well spent.
Gray clearly knew they were worth the financial outlay as they had the potential to develop and progress as the club has progressed.

Re: Stephen Thompson
He always puts a shift in. Reminds me of Wayne Rooney whenever I see him.
Re: Stephen Thompson
Tommo's been different class from the moment he signed. Although these last 4 years have naturally been a team effort IMO he's been our star man overall. Hopefully we'll get to see him play for a few more seasons (providing the cricket club cut the grass otherwise all we'll get to see is his bald head).
Re: Stephen Thompson
He's been one of our best players, if not the best player, since he signed. So important to our progress since 2012, and he's still a key player in the team.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Re: Stephen Thompson
I think Tommo has been our best most consistent player under MG.

Is he any relation to our Neil Johnson?anus wrote:Have you not heard? Brian Johnsons allegedly turning up with his flymo next Tuesday!!!!

According to Stod on twitter, Sunday will be Thommo's 199th game for us. The lad has been worth every penny the club spent on him

Re: Stephen Thompson
Combining his night shifts and playing for us tells you everything about Thommo, does my head in hearing about the poor, spoilt premiership stars getting tired, give me lads who combine football and jobs anytime.

Re: Stephen Thompson
Absolutely! His commitment is unquestionable. I just think he's a lad that likes playing football and getting paid for it is just a bonus. He has been one of the biggest contributors over the past 4/5 yearsQUAKERMAN2 wrote:Combining his night shifts and playing for us tells you everything about Thommo, does my head in hearing about the poor, spoilt premiership stars getting tired, give me lads who combine football and jobs anytime.

Would be his 200th tomorrow but his appearance in the DCC against Hebburn is being dis-counted.TinShedDarloFan wrote:According to Stod on twitter, Sunday will be Thommo's 199th game for us. The lad has been worth every penny the club spent on him

I think Tommo could make it in the professional game, he certainly has more than enough ability.
