Thoughts
Although Halifax, Stockport and Darlington all drew today, there is now one less game for Darlington to make up ground and build a points lead on Halifax who have two games in hand.
Being seventh means we are almost a playoff quality team, very respectable for a newly promoted team but 4 years of second place or better, it’s frustrating for management, players and fans that we are so close to another playoff season, doubly so on a day like this when it looked so good 85 minutes into the game. Goals conceded in the latter stages of a game throughout the season, that would take two points away when it became a draw, or one when it became a loss, they are now showing up as the numbers of games remaining dwindle down towards zero, two of those are away to Fylde and Salford where a point from each can be viewed as an excellent result.
