Re: Digits gone Darlington FC
Thank the football association, we are Darlington FC
Re: Digits gone Darlington FC
Fantastic news. Even if we don't reach the 'play-offs' this has still been a momentous season in our quest to re-build and bring home Darlington F.C.
Re: Digits gone Darlington FC
The pitchfork brigade on non league zone won't be best pleased. 99% of their darlo craic ruled out at a stroke

Re: Digits gone Darlington FC
Great news. As noted above, I hope someone with the technical wherewithal (and who has the time) can fix it so we only have the one Wikipedia article as well. Getting pretty sick of that 'were a football club from Darlington' crap.

Re: Digits gone Darlington FC
Well done everyone! Really grated on me when they called us 1883 on Saturday.
Re: Digits gone Darlington FC
Superb news!!!
No matter what happens in the final few games of this season, it's been a wonderful season with this and the return to Darlington.
Maximum of 8 more games with those awful numbers

Sadly, I think a maximum of 9 games - given home & away play-off semis.

Re: Digits gone Darlington FC
I'm staying positive. Only five more games with the indignity of them. And only two where it might be mentioned. Maybe Alfreton will acknowledge the news of today. We know our modest friends from Near cottonopolis won't.dsr wrote:Sadly, I think a maximum of 9 games - given home & away play-off semis.
This is the best news we've had all season. But bit by bit we are rebuilding our club back to where it deserves to be. A lot of hard work ahead but this is a big stride forwards.
I said to someone earlier in the season that our failed cup exploits might yet be the best thing that happens. When we do get that first round draw, we'll be on the telly as Darlington FC. Plain and simple. That is everything for me.
Re: Digits gone Darlington FC
5 league games left isn't there? So 8 maxdsr wrote:Sadly, I think a maximum of 9 games - given home & away play-off semis.
That's a very good point. Clearly MG and the team agreed - fully expecting 3rd round of the FA cup next seasondickdarlington wrote:

April 3rd 2017; Darlington FC become Eighteen Eighty FREE!!!
Re: Digits gone Darlington FC
1st July. That is when the 'new' season officially starts...
To the tune of lord of the dance?
Dar-ling-ton, not 1883
F*ck the FA and the Northern League
We're going back to the Football League
We've been Darlington since 1883
Not particularly creative with the rhymes...haha

Re: Digits gone Darlington FC
Great work by our club director Jon Jowett to get this done.
I agree with bantopp and al_quaker
Getting rid of the digits was one of three main tasks this season along with getting back playing home games in the town and being competitive in the National North
Despite Saturday's result and off the field issues at Fylde, it's been another good season.
I'm looking forward to the DFCSG fans forum on the 21st of April to hear about the next steps for our club in improving the match day experience for fans and the ambitions for the team

Re: Digits gone Darlington FC
The FA never fail to amaze, but this time on the positive side. Perhaps now they can get back to fighting FIFA about England wearing poppies on their shirts and reviewing the rules for inconsistencies such as the Ground suitability and number of seats in stands........

Was never bothered by the 1883, at least now people can concentrate on what I think are more important issues for the club.

well, this alone proves to me what a key achievement and superb piece of work it's been by the club to rid us of those numbers.Darlo_Pete wrote:Was never bothered by the 1883, at least now people can concentrate on what I think are more important issues for the club.

So what happened to the digits? Did the F.A. really stick them up their collective a**e as requested?
