Tamworth (H)
Nothing less than 3pts required here. Most top 6 sides I can't see dropping points this week, only Chorley away at Nuneaton which will be tough for them, although Kiddy are no great shakes away from home
Salford go to Harrogate
Kidderminster go to Gloucester
Stockport go to Gainsborough
Fylde go to Stalybridge
Halifax play Alfreton
Away from home Tamworth have taken 18pts from 18 games, 16th in the away form table. Also, looking at latest results, the last 8 away from home they've drawn 2 and lost 6, so tomorrow is an opportunity for us

Re: Tamworth (H)
That's not an easy game for Salford, to be fair. Could easily only end up with a draw...
Re: Tamworth (H)
The only games I would consider as bankers are Halifax against Alfreton and Fylde.
Re: Tamworth (H)
Sam has Poppyfield done something to upset you with his earlier Post about the same game?
Re: Tamworth (H)
Sam apologies got that the wrong way round I meant to ask Poppyfield the question. I'll shut up now as clearly I have nothing constructive to say!

When everybody above you is playing teams below you then I have to agree if we don't take 3 points I think the playoffs will be unattainable.
Clearly results could still go our way but have to expect they won't.

Re: Tamworth (H)
We should have won much more comfortably than we did. A good performance, topped off with one of the best team goals I've ever seen us score.
Back into the playoffs, on to next week.

Re: Tamworth (H)
Same theme as usual when we dominate games. Play brilliantly for most of the game, the opposition create nothing of note beyond a few long range efforts...we find a way to gift them a couple of goals and it ends up clinging on rather than cruising!
Really don't mean to moan as it was 100% better today than at Fylde, our 3rd goal was absolutely sublime and we really looked good, it's just these bloody soft goals! suppose it's never boring watching Darlo at least!

Re: Tamworth (H)
Massive win for us yesterday. With some great goals from Thompson and a great team goal finished off by Cartman. I'll be honest when I saw the team sheet I was worried. A very attacking side that might have left our defence overly exposed. But MG got the result we needed to keep up the playoff chances and all credit to him.
Need to put big pressure on the likes of chorley and Stockport by winning our next 3 against Alfreton, FCUM and Telford. The up and down season continues. Just hope we can make the playoffs. Could easily generate 20k in revenue for the club just before the summer.

That goal was sh1t. No one controlled the ball. It was hobbling around all that very the place. It fell in a fortunate position and as Cartman struggled to stand up it just went in. Lucky.

A great game by Stephen Thompson
A lot of new players have joined us since our northern league days but we still look to him to make things happen.

Great Band Of Brothers interview with MG on official site warning the rest we're going for it. Once again it's going to be an exciting end of season and however it ends these players have done fantastically well to rise to the challenge of a new level. If at the start of the season someone had offered the current position for the run-in you'd have snapped their hand off.
Re: Tamworth (H)
I think you meant 'bobbling' not hobbling, then 'all over the place'. Recommend you watch it closely again on YouTube, then will leave it to you to edit the rest.dickdarlington wrote:That goal was sh1t. No one controlled the ball. Re: Tamworth (H)
Goal proves that we can play football on BM pitch. By the way Browns appeals for a foul for their goal were embarrassing.
Re: Tamworth (H)
Well said, getting into the playoffs is a strong possibility now and the extra income would be very welcome. Not sure we are ready to go up, as too many goals leaking and the defence needs a radical revamp. MG needs to strengthen the squad for next season and may have some unpopular decisions to make. The pitch needs drains doing & completely returfed. The ground needs a lot more terracing and more fans through the gates.LoidLucan wrote:Great Band Of Brothers interview with MG on official site warning the rest we're going for it. Nevertheless, it was unthinkable five years ago for us to be in our current position. There are many people who have achieved some amazing things in order to get us back to Town and to where we are now. As an ordinary fan, can I say a heartfelt thank you for 5 seasons which will go down in history

Alun's promise to the fans: “I’ll make sure I’ll bring players in that are value for money and I want players that want to play for Darlington Football Club, want to progress and move up the league and show the fans that passion.”
