Comments in current full league table order,
Top 10, games, played, outstanding etc

Fylde, 18 played, remaining fixtures, NONE.
1-1 home draw with Bradford. A 97th min equaliser rescues a point for Fylde who trailed 1-0 at half time. 3 more points now guarantees them the league. Saturday, at Boston.

Kidderminster, 18 played, remaining fixtures, NONE.
4-1 away win at Altrincham. An excellent 2nd half performance with 3 goals lifts Kidder to a 4-1 victory over the bottom placed Altrincham. Saturday, at Gainsborough.

Halifax, 17 played, remaining fixture, away at Chorley.
3-0 win at Harrogate. Two first half goals, a third after the break lead Halifax to victory, they have a 5-1-1 record over the last seven games, in addition their Top 10 record has improved recently, they are now third best, 26 points from 17 games. Saturday, home to Curzon Ashton.

Darlington, 17 played, remaining fixture, away at Salford.
4-2 home win over F.C. Utd Man, a fast start for Darlington today, 3-0 up from David Ferguson (5 mins) with a great 25 yd shot, a Mark Beck header (14) after a great cross from Ferguson and an unselfish header across goal from David Syers, and a Terry Galbraith (26) pen), they led 3-1 at half time, a smooth interchange inside the box with Nathan Cartman lead to Gary Brown’s goal (80) before a last min FC Utd goal. Saturday, home to Telford.

Chorley, 17 played, remaining fixture, home to Halifax.
1-0 away win at Stalybridge. A single 31st min goal is enough for Chorley to maintain its fifth place in the table. Saturday, at Gloucester.

Salford, 17 played, remaining fixture, home to Darlington.
1-0 home win over Curzon Ashton. An 83rd min winner saves the day for Salford who remain in 6th place. Saturday, at Worcester.

Stockport, 18 played, remaining fixtures, NONE.
0-0 away draw at Worcester. Stockport struggled today in a goalless draw, they will need help from teams above dropping points to make the playoffs as they sit in 7th place. A reason why they are seventh??, They have more away points than home points after 40 games, only 9 home wins in 20 games. Saturday, at Bradford P.A.

Brackley, 16 played, remaining fixtures, home to Halifax, away at Harrogate
0-0 home draw with Gainsborough. Brackley were unable to beat lowly Gainsborough in this goalless match. Saturday, at HARROGATE .

Thoughts

Another fine performance from a tenacious Darlington team today. The team played well whether going down either flanks, there was impressive cohesive play with Phil Turnbull and David Syers, pushing FC Utd sideways, breaking up attacks, Syers also supported the attack, selfishly heading across goal for the second from Mark Beck. David Ferguson deserved the man of the match award, this team is a joy to watch, in a division where taking a 3-0 lead does not kill off opponents, they adjust their style of play to try and slow down opponents, and improve their performance at the same time. This version of the 2016/17 Darlington team is looking strong, it is an encouraging sign for next season if the players can be retained, and the off the field issues can be resolved. If we are forced with an unsuccessful appeal to stay in the division, all of our opponents know we will likely be a playoff contender.
A very big Thank you to everyone at Darlofansradio (Andy, Stu, Michael and Michael) for giving me a great day at Blackwell Meadows, completing a bucket list wish, allowing me to do summaries after each half. It’s a lot harder than typing my little pieces here (no one sees how many corrections I make before publishing, and a few still seem to get out each week!!!), but having to speak, getting one take with a racing mind, very hard to do. The commentaries are fair and accurate, making Saturday’s for overseas followers like myself feel a lot closer to the club with their wonderful work. Thanks again.

Great summary of the play-off position, if our position out of the play-offs is ignored. Sounds like you enjoyed your time over here?

Darlo_Pete,
It's a mixed feeling, I'm enjoying my time here, I will leave after the Telford game, it's great to see my family, see the Quakers.
The sadness is obvious, the F.A. ruling that will bar us from the playoffs.
