Cricket Fundraising Challenge to The Darlo Tykes

Post by BUSHEAD » Fri May 12, 2017 6:11 am

At cricket, I'm throwing down the gauntlet to our Yorkshire fans

I've mooted this as a small fundraiser previously, but every little helps

When :- Sunday 25th June 2pm .

Where :- Darlington RACC / Cockerton CC / Wherever

What :- 25/30/40 (?) over a side game

Funds raised :- £10 a player (minimum donation) with a BBQ tea, raffle, blind card on the day etc. If a company can sponsor each team etc the better.

Any takers Tykes ?

Surely it doesn't matter who benefits Most, as long as no one loses out

See if you can't play it at Cockerton?

Sounds like a good idea to me, game of cricket, few drinks and a few laughs whilst raising a bit of cash.

I suggested Cockerton so that people couldn't accuse you of trying to make the RA a bit of money.
Personally I think its a good idea but it could be better if you could get some of the Darlo staff and players involved too rather than just a fans game.

Some fans are quite close to the players , if they can get any on board it would be good.
As the board has been quite busy today & no tykes have accepted the challenge it might be dead before it starts .

Was only a suggestion to raise £300-£400 quid .

The reason I suggested the RA, is because quite obviously I have the connection there so can get it for free.
There'd be people around to buy raffle tickets etc and if a BBQ was on , they'd be into that as well.
Had other ideas for the day such as penalty shootout, bouncy castle etc .
