Roadrunner, you appear to be in the know quite a lot, and are either Yarm based or have Yarm connections. Is the version of events you put together the other day re:land development and MG academy speculation or a pretty accurate picture? Secondly, was BM the first choice development plot, or was that the Arena?

The Arena surprising what you see whilst walking your dog.

He must have had designs on The Arena. Something clearly changed his mind and it wasn't a bit of keyboard warrior grief. As has been said you can't be a successful businessman if you take offence and back off from every deal that some people don't support on social media. I see this as a smokescreen. Remember he talked about fearing for the safety of his family in 2012...deflection strategy to make us feel sorry for him

Regarding Raj's departing shot about unfinished business:

Could his next move may be a take over of the Arena & land from ailing MPRFC.

DFC ownership would be needed to allow this, with a less kack handed approach.

Could MPRFC be playing at BM in a few years time?

You obviously go out on the piss on Saturday afternoon.
Why would anyone have to own Darlington Football Club to be able to buy Mowden Rugby Club. :silent:

Wonder if raj's punt was to make it easier for the real investors to get involved. Perhaps the intentions are the same but now the baddy RS is out the way, perhaps the thought is we welcome a secondary bid with far less scrutiny - because it's not raj...?

That's why much greater scrutiny than a net cafe is required

This really concerns me. No, not whether there may be investors in the club at some point - if it is the right deal, of course. I would not have too much of a problem with that.

It is the fact that an 'apparent' happening is finding its way on to this forum and an hour later in a comment by Sword & Shield (S&S) on the Echo site (http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/ ... nts-anchor) and this brings two possibilities immediately to mind:

a) There is a leak by the parties involved - Club / Manager / Chair + investor(s) or
b) It's mischief making

After RajGate I cannot see anyone currently involved with the Club, or DFCSG, letting anything slip out at such a very early and tentative stage. They would not want the last two weeks repeated. The investor(s) perhaps? Not if they had a serious proposal to bring to the table - same reasons as anyone involved with the Club.

That leaves me with (b) unless RoadRunner (RR) can bring more to the table about a credible source for this. And was S&S merely broadcasting RR's post an hour after reading it? Maybe not, as he cites 'another rich private investor' as opposed to RR's 'two new investors'. In which case, heaven forbid, I might have to revisit (a).

Someone prove me wrong, please, preferably by some definitive statement as soon as possible. Until then I've promised to keep my imagination in check.

This Sword and Shield character has been slagging the board and the DFCSG off for weeks now after every Darlo article in the Echo so I would suspect it's mischief.

I knew I should have been in bed instead of going cross-eyed at my screen in the early hours, LOL. Apologies to RR for getting things back to front.

I've seen S&S's opinionated comments & it's clear it's someone who does not really give a monkey about what is best for the club. If they did, and they were party to such information, they would keep it under their hat to give it the best chance of success. Let's just not give them any more airtime and credence by repeating their mischievous utterances in this forum.

Or could S&S actually be the proposed investor and trying to destabilise things....

S&S = one of Scott and Sizer...?

I would doubt whoever that poster is would be an investor.

That was my first thought  I recall one of them did post somewhere, either here or on the Echo, when it all kicked off with the ownership of the Arena

I'm happy just to take everything at face value for now officially from the club. The last communication from Wayne Raper was Saturday morning, where he said there was no immediate prospect of investment. Unless he received news just after that and something happened on Saturday, then that post on the Echo website is just mischief making. We can't stop people posting rumours on The Echo website and Facebook, so until the club give us any news on anything, we need to just assume that rumours are rumours and get on with fund-raising.
