Top three....

Based on budget should be -

York
Darlington
Stockport

That's according to Gary Neville. Guess little Salford are just going to have to defy the odds yet again against all the big spenders.

Amazing how these full time teams are paying less than the part time outfits

Is he getting budget mixed up with support?

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Neville playing mind games again and probably trying to take a lot of pressure off Salford particularly as they are the strong favourites to finish top. They may just find it tough to cope with the pressure with all the media attention they have attracted and the joint management team will certainly have to achieve promotion this season or they will be out, no question.

Not mind games, it's an outright lie and Neville knows.

Strangely he's keeping quiet on the fact Liam Hogan is earning at least £50k from this season at Salford.....

I suppose he is just being canny about that he thinks 'budget' means.

If it is based on income from fans paying to watch matches, then yes he is probably right.

However that is a completely different thing to the amount of money spend by the football clubs over the season on players.

Gary Neville is very vocal for someone who only has a 10% stake in the club!

do think the twitter was said tongue in cheek to generate the reaction. Pretty sure his own management team have come out and said we have the biggest budget if we don't go up we get sacked (Dave Challinor used to say something similar at Fylde).

It managed to get a few bites on twitter though.

I think they have always peddled the line that they dont have the biggest budget and dont pay anywhere near what they are reported to. The documentaries have always had a theme of plucky little salford, one of englands smallest clubs, defying the odds to achieve great things.

Sure their manager says we have been told its champions or sacked because of the budget.

Think there is only so far they can peddle the lack of investment when their ground erupted from nothing to FL in 4 months.

Of course and it's worked with people biting... Just don't give them the satisfaction simple...

Anyway it's all being done for very noble reasons. The three billion dollar man Peter Lim says he invested out of "personal philanthropic interest in youth development."
