Well this it the last friendly before the new season starts, looking forward to this match. Hopefully a good performance to set us up for next Saturday.
It would be nice to see a few more there than was at Gateshead.

FT 0-0, solid at the back, not many chances created but Turnbull and Beck to come in so a decent result against another team from a higher division.

That's a very encouraging result, against a Conference side' Looks like we'll have a stronger defence this season than last.

Sounds like Collins had to go off injured so that leaves Brown as the only recognised fully-fit centre-back.

Browny got MOTM on the radio. Chris Hunter a close second.

First half had a lot of aerial balls trying to find channels, with little or no effect. Second half was with the wind with more balls passed up the flanks, creating more opportunities.Sub Cartman was at his best, but Brown was dominant at the back. Best I have seen from Marrs and Saunders tried and was unlucky. When discussing the squad for this season there are at least 3 kids in the reserves that would merit a position in the league game.

i was really happy today. with some better decision making in the final third we could have won a tight game comfortably. that sharpness of when to play kiĺler pass and when to shoot will come.

some key players being saved for the Salford game, so there should be improvements ahead.

It was a shame to see Beck still with his knee bandaged up, he has hardly featured in preseason, lets hope its nothing to serious.

I wonder whether Fenwick will be leading the front line next Saturday.

Looks to me that Caton is carrying a knock so it may be Fenwick if we bring him in.

Plus the way we play we ideally need a big man up top.

Front three of Cartman, Gillies and Wearmouth. Saunders on the bench.

We have a squad so lets use it.

maybe 4 3 3 for Salford, or 4.3.2.1?

if not Cartman, Beck and Caton up front...?
Wearmouth seen in reserves and lacking sharpness.
Saunders more likely than Gillies up front IMO

Gillies did have a good rest on Saturday, being ignored by the big boys with passes.
