Darlo v Telford Match Thread

Post by Darlobaz79 » Sat Aug 19, 2017 1:29 pm

Brown still injured it seems so team is
Bartlett
Hunter
Ferguson
Turnbull
Collins
Galbraith
Gillies
Syers
Beck
Caton
Thompson

Scott, Ed, Saunders, Fenwick and Marrs on the bench

Scott must be unlucky not to get a start after his second half v York

Galbraith goes close with a free-kick from around 30 yards.

This isn't going to be easy, as Telford aren't any mugs, they won their first game of the season at York.

Seems a bit of a struggle, no clear cut chances so far.

0-0 at HT, doesn't sound a great game so far. Hopefully Gray will get them fired up for the second half.

Telford were tough at Blackwell Meadows last season, it took a little magic to open them up, Gillies, Cartman and Ferguson, Ferguson got fouled, Beck put the penalty away. I'm hoping for the same again.

Bartlett makes another great save and keeps us in the game.

We don't seem to be building up any momentum, it sounds like Telford are more likely to score than us.

Syers goes very close from 25 yards out. We need to build up some momentum.

Telford have a good shout for a penalty, luckily the ref doesn't agree.

4 mins injury time, this performance will give Gray something to think about.

We didn't test their keeper once! I wonder how Cartman got on today?

That's why people prefer away games

I thought Telford were very ugly. 5 at the back, counter attack, niggle, push and shove, disrupt every midfield ball, time wasting from 50 mins onwards = anti football

Eh?

Because we lost a home game (which we've won two out of two of this season), people prefer away games?

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

No because our performances seem to be better. I've preferred both away games to any of our homes games this year.

Though I guess the fact I don't really like our ground has a fair bit of influence in my opinion too

Exactly how they played both games last season and they were good at it. Was always going to come down to who scored first and they did.

Just have to move on to the next one but poor match, poor result and not a great attendance after recent results and performances.

Our away games have both been highly competitive affairs against respected opposition and we've probably had results better than we'd expect in both, which will always leave you feeling better as a fan.

Expectation is higher in the home games so probably, psychologically it feels less satisfying when we win them - especially against opposition you don't see as a rival.

Your ground point is perfectly valid, although I guess there are plenty of away grounds that are no better which we're yet to visit this season.
