Alfreton Highlights are up

Post by Ginge01 » Mon Aug 14, 2017 2:33 am

Thanks as always Kev for your excellent work. It's annoying we have to wait but it's well worth it. It's Sunday night for me, Monday 3:30am right now.
All good goals, Caton, Gillies (both) and Ferguson.

If Caton hadn't scored then we'd have been incredibly hard done by to not be awarded a penalty for a foul on Beck.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Refs don't normally award anything for fouls on Beck even when he is wrestled to the ground and has his shirt turned inside out. I think the 'Beck is never fouled' rule has now been written into the laws of the game.

I agree - just seems to be a rule for any forward over 6'2". I remember seeing an interview with Niall Quinn years ago saying the same.

Conversely, you can't even blow on a goalkeeper in an aerial challenge without conceding a free-kick (even though they already have the 'advantage' of being able to raise and use their hands).

Thought Beck got a good few fouls awarded to him on Saturday. Thought the ref was one of the best we've seen at BM in a while.
