I don't see the need to make it all ticket for Darlo fans. The last time it was done it was just relaxed on the day, wasn't it?

Make it all ticket for Spen if they must, then actually segregate appropriately, rather than when we've had smaller away followings but the segregation has been way too far around, thus reducing space for our home fans. You could probably fit all ten of their die hards in the corner anyway. They won't need the whole end behind the goal.

I suspect segregating by a 'smaller' amount will be problematic due to availability of facilities. You would end up with a different percentage of crowd who have access to the toilets.

There were some portaloos brought for a match last season. Something that could be considered?

I'm having some building work done. The portaloo at my house is serviced weekly and costs £37 a week. Not madly expensive?

I thought 2,200 myself, being cautious - but would not have been surprised if it was announced as 2,300-2,400.

To me, it looked about as full as the 2nd game at BM v Nuneaton, which was 2,343. Was surprised at 2,050.

The club officially announced 373 in the Spennymoor end, and it looked about that.

I thought it looked less to be honest but the club announced it so not going to argue.

Spenny fans were very quiet even when they were winning, Darlo not massively big on the noise either but from the seats heard Darlo a good bit but very little from the Spenny fans.

373 is pretty pathetic for Spennymoor fans at the game, considering how close it is to them.

It's more than half of last season's average home crowd.

As Spennymoor is only 1/5th the size of Darlington, then their home and away following should be 1/5th of ours. However it's more like 1/3 to 1/2.

Relatively speaking, they are better supported than us.

What does that say about the Darlington attendance for a home game then?

Spennymoor has a population of 20,000 ( according to , so 373 attending an away game is 1.865% of the population of the town

Darlington has a population of 105,396 ( according to Darlington Council) , so 1677 ( 2050 official attendance minus the 373 in away end) is 1.5911% of the town's population.

Thus Spennymoor take a larger % of the towns population to an away game than Darlington take to a home game!

Are you going to call the Darlington support even more pathetic given it was a home game and much closer to them than for the Spennymoor fans

Spen, we've been calling the Darlo support pathetic for years. Many townsfolk will give any excuse not to watch them.

Though it was a decent turn out from Spen, half your home support. But that will be it for the season.Lets see how many you take to Chorley,Curzon,Alfreton and the like.Nowhere near the percentage we take.

To be fair at our last major final (FA Trophy) didn't we take about 10,000 people which was 9.48% of the population.

Surely it is only fair to compare like for like.

I am not calling your support pathetic, nor am I calling Spennymoor's support god bad or otherwise.

To be honest, getting 1.5 - 2% of a towns population to a game is not bad. Clubs like Tranmere get a similar % of the Birkenhead population to watch them.

As the club continue to grow and stabilise and people get used to having a club nearly back in the town, I would expect the support to gradully increase - providing the club avoid financial scandal/ problems which is probably one of the biggest factors in the minds of those who do not attend.

Would not surprise me if quite a few Darlo fans were in the Spenny end to get a better view rather than double up on the flat areas.

People travel from all over to watch clubs. When I go to Tranmere there are buses full of fans from Liverpool and beyond so it's not wholly accurate.

And a bus full from Darlington, who go and watch Manchester United every game, probably the only ones from Darlington with any sense. Talking of crowds, Darlington are just a tiny tin pot club, with no fans.
