Some really good points made in this thread. Quite often when MG's being interviewed I'm wondering why Ray is giving him such an easy ride without asking more direct questions that would put to bed a lot of the rumours that keep surfacing. It's almost as if there's a fear of how Gray will respond which definitely shouldn't be the case. Instead of hearing "well Martin...Beck was unlucky with his 4 missed sitters from 5 yards out and on another day we could have won that game" I'd rather he was asked more challenging questions. Nothing seems to be coming out of the club and it's a shame we're relying on ad hoc fans forums to be kept updated. Anyway it'll be interesting to see what Gray does with Cartman as he cant have rated him first time round if he was sending him out on loan.

Was it impossible for Ray to ask after Southport something along the lines of "Struggling to put chances away aren't we, so can you update us on Cartman and what happened with Fewster?" Doesn't have to be aggressive, just naturally inquisitive.
In one sense I agree but whenever I see an interview in which Gray gets questions he doesn't like, he tends to shut down the interview with one word aggressive answers.

I honestly can't see things changing, Ray is not going to do it and Stoddart has to keep a working relationship with MG also.
I too have noticed Gray's hackles rise very quickly when he gets a question or a possible criticism he doesn't like. It does make it difficult for the interviewer.

Perhaps we should get Mr Darlogramps to do it?
