GARY BROWN INJURY?
GARY BROWN INJURY?
Does anyone know what is keeping Gary from playing. Is it still the knock on effect from the concussion he suffered at York City on August 15th?
Re: GARY BROWN INJURY?
Slightly worrying if so - head injuries are no laughing matter and if it is something resulting from the concussion rather than a cut or something superficial then who knows if/when we'll see him back.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

It's not just concussion from what I heard and will need signing off from the doctor before he will be back.

Martin told me bruising on the brain and doctors orders where a 4 weeks off and that was the day of the chorley game
Re: GARY BROWN INJURY?
Best wishes to Gary.

Head injuries are no joke. I hope Gary takes all the time he needs to recover.

Re: GARY BROWN INJURY?
What got to me, was listening to the account of the match on BBC Radio York in which Gary was injured. The commentator, who was naturally pro-York but doing his best to be neutral, indicated that the head injury might be being feined (my word, not his). And that Darlington were time-wasting, to slow down the game.
Knowing that Gary is as straight and honest a player as you can get, I knew it would be otherwise. When he was subsequently taken off and substituted the same commentator said that "well maybe it was genuine then".
I think as Darlington supporters we all knew that.
It doesn't seem a coincidence to me that the team has played badly without him in the side.
Hope my grammar is correct; I try my best.

Re: GARY BROWN INJURY?
I seem to recall that Brown had come up for a set-piece into their box and went down after a clash with a York player. The ref halted the game because it was a head injury but the York players were incensed because they had the chance to launch a quick break on us with our central defender laid out. The York players complained long and loud at the ref but it was obvious Brown had taken a bad knock and was sparked out. I had heard he was going to have some sort of scan because of ongoing problems like dizzy spells.
Don't know whether the blow to the head has improved his ability to find winners on the horses

Re: GARY BROWN INJURY?
They should be better equipped to tell if a player is faking injury or not because of an incident more than 25 years ago?
Was not believing he was injured a factor in David Longhurst's death or something?

"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883

What is the connection between David Longhurst dying after a heart attack as a result of a congenital defect and Gary Brown getting a head injury?

Sounding fine is not being physically fit is it.
Fine line with head injuries, especially brain bruising.

The response was to a statement hoping he feels better soon, so the response was perfectly acceptable I thought.onewayup wrote:Sounding fine is not being physically fit is it.
