The potential for players to be poached

Post by H1987 » Sun Oct 01, 2017 1:08 pm

Just a thought, but there's got to be a distinct possibility Gray will look to take players with him, and he has knowledge of who is on what type of contract to do it. Hope we've got people tied down on contracts to make sure we get fees.

I'm concerned that some of our better players will have clauses relating to offers from FT clubs, which of course York are

But he would never do this, as he said in the Forum "You have trusted me for five year, trust me for the next five year, and I'll fulfil your dreams..." blah blah blah

If they go, they go.

We need players and a manager who want to be here, and work forwards from that.

The rest of this season is now about creating stability, and our board being realistic with potential new managers.

To be honest I can't see him coming back for too many, Ferguson perhaps?

The problem at York isn't the talent at their disposal it's been a lack of motivation and determination when things aren't going well on the pitch. Something I imagine MG will be able to install much better than Mills.

Poach away.
Any players who don't want to play for us are welcome to leave.

Why would he want any of our players they could not be motivated to play for him when he was our manager

Bartlett could be ok as Andy Collett is the goalkeeper coach so no full time job there.

Just a full time goalkeeping job though?

Let us not forget that this is a big jump for our players, York are a full-time outfit and so any of our players would have to give up their daytime job and as a result be possibly worse off financially. They would also be taking on job insecurity. Would only appeal to a few and probably not those with a family and a mortgage.

Not sure york would need to poach anyone. They have a long throw specialist and a giant centre forward.... looks to me like everything is already in place.
