DFCSG Statement

Post by Alfie » Wed Oct 04, 2017 8:06 am

'Farewell Martin

Darlington FC Supporters Group would like to publicly recognise the significant achievements of Martin Gray during his time as manager of Darlington Football Club, alongside his management team and fully backed by our magnificent members and fans.

Martin’s leadership, ruthless ambition and ceaseless work ethic led us to two championships and three fantastic promotions that will live long in the memory. He leaves the club in a much better place than when we all embarked on this journey five and a half years ago. We wish him well in his future management career.

The DFCSG board would like to welcome the club’s new management team, Brian Atkinson & Sean Gregan, ahead of their first game in charge against Stockport County this Saturday and wish them the best of luck. We’re looking forward to developing a constructive relationship with Brian & Sean.'

Says all the right things. Should we read anything into the last sentence about the relationship with the previous management

I'm sure he'll be reasonable and measured and cut his cloth....

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

This isn't what MG is thinking:

"Damned supporters, owning quarter of the club and expecting to have a voice. They'll turn the club into a laughing stock".

Yet...
Alun's promise to the fans: “I’ll make sure I’ll bring players in that are value for money and I want players that want to play for Darlington Football Club, want to progress and move up the league and show the fans that passion.”

All of a sudden, I'm tempted to join the York City Supporters Trust...

When York move away from bootham crescent it will kill the club, monks cross is a couple of miles out of the city centre. York rugby sold the clarance street ground many years agoand moved out thier, they use to get 3 to 4 thousand a game, now only a couple hundred turn up. Good luck Martin!
