Bob Hardisty and the 1948 Olympics

Next year is the 70th anniversary of Bob playing in the 1948 Olympics. He was at that time registered as a Darlo player and he played all four of GB's games in full (390 minutes).

Interesting piece.

Why was Hardisty registered with Darlington for those 3 seasons if he only played 6 games?

Why did he not stay or return to Bishop Auckland?
