Brian and Sean are our "Joint Managers"

Post by Mr_Tibbs » Tue Oct 03, 2017 7:55 am

Just for clarification of how they should be termed... not Manager/Assistant Manager

http://darlingtonfootballclub.co.uk/atk ... g-session/

Good luck to them - here's hoping the lads respond in the right way on Saturday and please remember that it's FOOD BANK COLLECTION DAY at the Stockport game so please have a rummage about in your cupboards for anything non-perishable which you can drop in the collection bins.

I'm looking forwards to Saturday now - far more than I was before Gray left. We have some very talented players who Gray hasn't got the best out of this season. A fresh start could be what is needed.

Why joint managers though? I wonder if it was easier to promote both to manager to stop either of them leaving. Although I wonder if that means they've both had a pay rise up the rank of manager.

Could it be to do with other work commitments? I don't know what the training arrangements are, but perhaps one normally attends one session, and one the other?

I have no issue with it really. The proof will be in the results.

Me either. Might work well at this level to have a management team... less weight on one man's shoulders.

Seems to work ok for Salford.

Wouldn't be surprised at that but at least it gives us time to find a suitable manager going forward though what if they do well and decide to stay or maybe there won't even be a job at York come May. Now that would be ironic.

Ok thanks guess he has been commuting for the last few years so no change to his work life balance other than maybe a few more hours!

I think he lives in or near Morecambe. I don't like the idea of joint managers, at the end of the day someone has to make a decision, not a consensus. We should have a manager and his assistant. Really looking forward to Saturday's game.

Presume this is some kind of record for shortest time as managers. Mind, very difficult one for the statisticians Played 0, won 0 lost 0 and goal difference 0

Don't think it's even a Darlo record.

Can anyone remember how long Ryan Kidd lasted?
