Ferguson & Beck: YC 60K
Re: Ferguson & Beck: YC 60K
If Gray has tried to take half our first team as alleged, it really does show what a single minded, arrogant man he is.
He sees the player's as his players, not Darlington players.
I understand Beck and Ferguson taking the full time opportunity. Fair enough. I think both could do better than a roll of the dice at York but that's their choice.
Any player that has chosen Darlington over Martin Gray, regardless of ability, has my respect.

Thompson has been very good for us until this season. Some people really do have short memories.offside wrote:Oh yeah forgot about him whacking them into the top corner of the stand because everything has to be hit as hard as he can when in a good positiontdk1 wrote:offside wrote:Superb for the last 5 my arse!!! Thommo has been awful this season
Let's get that group mentality back, one big unit, then turn this fiasco into a new start.
The ones where he kept whacking it in the top corner from 30 yards.

We're on about the last five years though.

Think we may have cross wires here. my point was Thompson has been great for five years, this season something has been wrong in the whole squad. Clean slate, reset, time for players to stand up and for fans to give them the chance to do so.

Thommo may have been poor at times but we've hardly set the world alight this season as a team have we? He's been brilliant in the past and often a joy to watch. Get off his back and support the team through this chaos.

No stress, looking back I think I made a typo that made it look that wayoffside wrote:Appologies mate thought u meant last five gamestdk1 wrote:Think we may have cross wires here. my point was Thompson has been great for five years, this season something has been wrong in the whole squad. So apart from tezza making this statement where else is it mentioned , or are we in speculation overload?tezza wrote:Signed this afternoon. Bartlett possibly next ?
Re: Ferguson & Beck: YC 60K
Unfortunately Thomson has not been the same since he was injured 2 years ago,he has lost his pace how often has he beaten his man lately he has been found out at this level, yes he was very good in the lower leagues but not now.
Re: Ferguson & Beck: YC 60K
There is no mention of these transfers on the club website, the york club site, northern echo, york pressDarlopartisan wrote:So apart from tezza making this statement where else is it mentioned , or are we in speculation overload?tezza wrote:Signed this afternoon. Bartlett possibly next ?
I would have thought if it were true it would have surfaced by now
Equally you would think if it was a load of rubbish it would have been denied from our end at least

Re: Ferguson & Beck: YC 60K
Tezza is ever so slightly more reliable than roadrunner with rumours. I wouldn't expect the club to be denying transfer rumours which only appear once on here.
It's probably true and if so well good luck to the lads - getting back into FT football. Chances are there were clauses in contracts £30k maybe for a return to FT football. I suppose I hope not as I actually wouldn't mind if we had sell ons on Ferguson.

Very least we should now be looking at not overspending by the end of the season. Looking forward to us not having to rattle buckets for an overspend this year, it was embarrassing every year Martin.

Re: Ferguson & Beck: YC 60K
I do not know if Tom was approached? Given that only last week he and his partner had their first child, a girl congratulations, coupled with the fact he has a secure position as an electrician, furthermore has only recently purchased a house in Stockton, it seems unlikely he would take such a risk. MG is aware of all this and even he with all his gaul would have known the outcome.Craig09 wrote:The Golden Hairclip wrote:Martin said he wouldn't rape and pillage Darlo yet he goes after a chunk of our first team. Also heard Tom Portas turned him down aswell
Re: Ferguson & Beck: YC 60K
If Ferguson and Beck have gone for money then great. We always have been and always will be a selling club. They have gone. Someone else will come. The benefit is the gaping black hole in our finances might be plugged.
This reminds me of Gary Himsworth leaving for York for a very particular sum of money.

If Ferguson and Beck have gone, good luck to them, I would hope there are sell on clauses/Promotion Bonuses, for Ferguson, I, as many others have pointed out, think he could fit in further up the pyramid.
All I want now is those who are still with us is to show there hearts are in it and want to play for the shirt, the club and us, the fans

Bet Bartletts rejection of MGs approach was not what he was expecting.

And also just listened to Turnbull's interview and he confirmed he's gone. A brief glimmer of hope soon extinguished
Shame the club won't be releasing details of the fee for Ferguson. Would've been nice to know

Re: Ferguson & Beck: YC 60K
The reaction to MG presence at last nights training was not in no way well received by all of the players, one in particular complete snub ....well done to that player
Re: Ferguson & Beck: YC 60K
The fact that Gray turned up at DFC training further highlights the mans arrogance. Maybe he came along to try to bully one or two more into following him.tezza wrote:The reaction to MG presence at last nights training was not in no way well received by all of the players, one in particular complete snub ....well done to that player

Think it is fairly standard of ex managers to want to say farewell. He was in no way threatening or intimidating.Spyman wrote:The fact that Gray turned up at DFC training further highlights the mans arrogance. Interesting if true. I picked up a few little hints in Turnbulls interview that it wasn't a happy camp under Graytezza wrote:The reaction to MG presence at last nights training was not in no way well received by all of the players, one in particular complete snub ....well done to that player
