Anthony Peacock
Just seen some footage by my mate from 2005/2006 time and I forgot how decent he was for us for a short period of time considering he frame etc. Tough league too. Last time I see him was at Spennymoor, he is still there?

No, Shildon.
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883

Re: Anthony Peacock
I remember seeing him play at Northampton away. A superb player albeit slight in stature. He had a fantastic first touch.
Re: Anthony Peacock
Superb? He ended up in the Northern League after Darlo.
Think you're over-rating him a tad there.

Re: Anthony Peacock
He WAS superb - my standout memory was him leaving lots of Chokers in his wake in the League Cup match in Codsville.
I’ve no idea why it didn’t work out - he certainly had more ability than most (if not all) of our other midfielders in the surrounding years.

Re: Anthony Peacock
I seem to remember Peacock barged a much bigger player off the ball at the Arena. He was ok, but his stature was always going to hold him back.

It was a big black lad playing for Oxford, Peacock came and nicked the ball off him he looked round in total shock had no idea what happened! One of the funniest things I've seen at a Darlo match
He showed a great deal of promise at the time bags of ability but was always "too small" especially for a midfielder.
love it! wrote:Considering we are Darlington 1883 I'm happy that we are named correctly

Half pint was far to fond of a full pint (or two )
