It will not be Armstrong
Help get the club back to Darlo by helping to spread the word about the "Back to Darlo!" fund. The image on the right will be constantly updated with the latest total so please feel free to use the image link below the thermometer on your own signatures, blogs, websites, etc. | Image link: http://www.mydarlo.co.uk/img/BTD-therm-350x100.jpg |
Re: It will not be Armstrong
According to the statement we contacted them, maybe he didn't apply. Would surprise me if he did apply given what is said in the statement about contracts. Also, anything in the statement about 'Croft Park being ready for Conference football' As we know, BM isn't. A stumbling block maybe?

Surely if we have contacted Blyth then we must of contacted Whitby.

Re: It will not be Armstrong
MG had a contract a lot longer than that did it help us??
Re: It will not be Armstrong
I think this is a reality check. Historically, we are a big club, but at the moment we are not a major draw. Realistically, Blyth are a bigger club than ourselves at the moment, mainly due to the infrastructure. We are not 'Conference National ready', whereas they are. People are not just going to walk from other clubs to ourselves. However, we need to remember at times like these just where we have come from in a short space of time, and David Johnston is dead right when he says that we need to structure off the pitch in a stable manner.
Re: It will not be Armstrong
What we need right now is a young up and coming manager, maybe from a lower league but with good local contacts - a manager who does not need millions, a manager who would look at Darlo as a step up and be honoured to work for us and share the fans vision of a secure and stable next few years.

Re: It will not be Armstrong
Interesting line in Stoddart's tweet
'Talks reached a stalemate yesterday'
Suggests it wasn't a straight rebuttal from the club but a deal couldn't be reached?

Re: It will not be Armstrong
Yep according to Blyth we made nothing more than a tentative enquiry but clearly there was a lot more to it than that.

According to in Stoddart's tweet
'Talks reached a stalemate yesterday'
So the 7 people interviewed, were they already managing clubs? If they were the clubs must of knew and must have a compo fee in place which we must of been aware with or Are we failing on the personal agreement with the new manager?

Adam Lakeland at Farsley Celtic fits the bill.Quakerz wrote:What we need right now is a young up and coming manager, maybe from a lower league but with good local contacts - a manager who does not need millions, a manager who would look at Darlo as a step up and be honoured to work for us and share the fans vision of a secure and stable next few years.

Re: It will not be Armstrong
Blyth will have put more on the table for armstrong to keep him there.
Re: It will not be Armstrong
I'm suprised we've got to this stage of the evening and nobody has been on to demand that the club make a statement.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Though understood to be disappointed at not being first choice for the position, Wright is now in discussions about replacing Martin Gray at Blackwell Meadows.

If it is Tommy Wright for gods sake let's get behind him 100% and see what he brings to the club.Would like to see Alan White back here as a coach or assistant so if he teams up alongside Tommy then who knows. Both these guys are passionate about the club unlike a former manager and could work out really well so let's cut out the negativity and see what unfolds.
