Smith and Toman
Re: Smith and Toman
Seems like people are looking for comfort and security, so first thoughts are to find a degree of familiarity by going through ex-Darlo players.
Understandable, but a bit like deciding to marry but not being in a relationship, going through a list of old girlfriends. Really we should be getting out going to new places, even dating sites on the web in order to meet new talent.
Don't think we are attractive enough just to sit around on High Row waiting for someone to turn up in a Porsche and whisk us off to some magic land.
There is someone out there who will be good for us & shares our dreams of playing attractive football in our own stadium, crowd of 5000 watching us thrash Hartlepool 6-0 (note the clean sheet!).

In the FA Cup? Or is an FA Cup win still too much to ask?jjljks wrote:Seems like people are looking for comfort and security, so first thoughts are to find a degree of familiarity by going through ex-Darlo players.

Re: Smith and Toman
We are/have been a bit like the fat lass in the ‘Mardi’ at 10 to 2 in the am on a Sunday morning. The lights have come on and it’s nearly chucking out time. MG suggests we go home with RS in his motor and that we should be grateful for the attention, even if he’s shat on us in the past . Then they both get shirty because we’re not interested in being hurt in love again. So then we face going it alone for a short while. But now we’re back in the market for a new man. Thing is, we’re not as attractive a proposition as a) we used to be and b) compared to some of the younger and fitter models around. The more we gaze frantically around the dance floor the more panicked we get and we’re tempted to go with a guy we know from the circuit (Smith and Toman et al). They’re not ideal but they’re Darlo through and through. Then we see a new guy who talks nicely and only drives a normal motor but isn’t from Darlo. Do we stick or twist? Some of our mates are suspicious because he’s not from the town and are suspicious of outsiders....
Re: Smith and Toman
Reading the latest twists in this thread, perhaps the Board are the wrong people to be choosing the new manager...instead perhaps it's time for Dear Dierdre?
Alternatively doesn't Scarlett Moffat have a match making show on TV. Perhaps Darlington FC could be her next challenge

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.
