Yes we're in a tough position and going on what I saw today, we're now in a relegation battle, it's pointless talking about the play-offs as it'll never happen.

Agree play offs are totally out of the question

It was men against boys is what opposition managers used to say after playing us and losing. Well how the tide has turned, it really was men against boys today but not in our favour!.
Too early to blame TW but have to say his team selection and tactics are bizarre!
He must have known that Brackley play 3 big centre halves, but hey, let's see if our 5'7" can handle them on his own. What? but ok then, at least Syers is bigger and has a goal threat and actually linked play very well last week and actually Scored. Tell you what, no I,ll drop him and play another small weak player who hasn't played well in any game! Seriously!
Never mind, awful first half, 2 down, he,ll change it at half time surely. No, let's continue with a lone tiny forward. From memory we had 2 weak shots on goal all game and no corners!
Physically we are seriously weak and small and quite honestly cannot compete against big, well organized teams who close us down quickly. YET, again, we used to be that team!
It seems we have no money, have players on contracts who we cannot force out and going be last few weeks don,t seem to have any connections with our neighbors to borrow a centre half and centre forward!
Hope I,m wrong, but sense we are in a relegation battle, particularly given our next dozen matches.
Probably the lowest I have felt in 5 years.

Exactly. Which makes the OP either a wind up merchant or ignorant of what's happened in the last 5 years.

Just imagine we lose our best midfielder, our solid centre back and centre forward have long term injuries. It's all doom and gloom isn't it? That's the thing about supporting your team through thick and thin. After all the glory years it's a bit thin but we need to keep the faith!!!

Bang on Don’t buy the Sun. Put Brown, Hunter and Beck in that team and its a different ball game. TW has inherited the result of Gray’s haphazard signings which shows in a squad with no balance. Compare with how Ainsley over at Spenny has build a squad.

Does anyone know what the prognosis is for Brown's return? Haven't heard much recently.
I think I speak for all when I say I hope he's still on the mend and recovering OK. If he's able to return, I hope the enforced lay off won't affect his fitness and quality of play. We could have done with him yesterday. Always been my favourite member of the squad.

The way Brown was running round the pitch before the game, he must be very close to being match fit. I'd expect him back next weekend.

He is fit, just not allowed to head any balls. Could be a while yet.
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883

That doesn't sound very good for him or the team.
