Do it tonight Johnson
Get these two useless sods out of this club now or accept the responsibility for our relegation because it is inevitable unless you act.I have watched Darlo since the sixties and believe me ,I have seen some piss poor teams in that time but I have never, seen anything as bad as what Gowling and Rose are responsible for.Act now.

If he doesn’t act then he is just as culpable for this mess. He has made two very poor decisions in the last 6 months so needs not to exacerbate this one.

Actually his name is Johnston. You really ought to know that.
Re: Do it tonight Johnson
I think there is now damage being inflicted on this club and its future. There is something radically wrong when going to support your club becomes an ordeal.
The atmosphere is becoming toxic and there is nothing to encourage people to attend BM. The formation, tactics and organisation seems completely chaotic and the players looked completely lost today.
Anyone watching that would conclude that things are wrong behind the scenes and that spirit, desire and motivation have collapsed. Sadly it wasn't a blip today and there were no excuses. It always seems to be one step forward and two steps back.
The new regime has been given a fair degree of flexibilty in bringing in new players and molding the team with their ideas and here we are, getting cut adrift from safety and being outgunned, outfought and out-thought by the bottom dogs.
I think you would be hard pressed to find any fans who are confident that the current management are capable of taking us forward and progressing long term.

Re: Do it tonight Johnson
I have no confidence they have the ability to even get us close to safety, never mind progressing!
Re: Do it tonight Johnson
Unfortunately, I think you are right. I was completely baffled by some things I saw today, such as Will Hatfield playing wide, when he should be in the centre, Asante dropping deep when he was our only central striker. Also why on earth are playing a possession game of keep ball in the centre of the park when we are 2 nil down, instead of getting the ball into the box.

Re: Do it tonight Johnson
It was awful - there's no denying it.
We looked crap after 3 minutes and crap after 93 minutes. During the 90 minutes between 3 and 93 we were crap as well.
I'm starting to become numb to it tbh....

Re: Do it tonight Johnson
Maybe he played Asante deep because he still isn't quite fit, or maybe that's as fit as he'll get. Who knows? It is baffling though and I wonder why this guy ever thought he would be able to manage a football club. If we took him because he was a cheap option it's backfiring but I can't see any other reason. He didn't pull up any trees (c. Cyril Knowles) at Hereford so what was he expected to bring? He seems a nice enough bloke but you have to evaluate these guys on their results. Can you imagine the reaction the players would have got from Knowles or Dave Penny or you know who. Football managers don't have to be nice guys, they just have to put out a winning team that will battle. We must be able to get someone better than genial Josh. ASAP.
Re: Do it tonight Johnson
So it was obvious from minute 1 that their manager had a game plan and that was to man mark our midfielders and not let us play apart from sideways and backwards, and it worked.
Our manager had the same game plan of playing 2 defensive midfielders who barely get anywhere near the oppos penalty box, play our best midfielder as a winger, defend every corner and long throw by bringing back all 11 players so have no out ball, continue to play an unfit player as our lone striker etc etc etc.
In other words, one manager had a plan to win the game, one didn’t and looked out of his depth. He has to go, simple as.

Bishop's Stortford... tiny budget, several loanees, bottom of the league, without an away win, on the road from 7.30 this morning and then down to ten men.... it really does put some perspective on us surrendering with barely a whimper. It tells you very clearly that things ain't right in our camp. And it points to more absolute batterings when we again face some of the better sides in this league.
Re: Do it tonight Johnson
Starting Boxing Day, Scarborough have picked up form again and are looking good. We on the other hand look the opposite.
Re: Do it tonight Johnson
Just listened to Gowlings interview. The man is deluded.
Re: Do it tonight Johnson
What’s the next league down ?
Better prepare.
Better prepare.
Re: Do it tonight Johnson
What gets me is that we signed him to be a man manager, but has made (correct me if I am wrong) 12 signings and only 4 have made the starting 11 today with 1 making the bench… so out of 16 players 5 are his. Adding a whole new starting 11 plus one sub in his short 3 months in charge isn’t the sign of someone who can manage a squad well.

Re: Do it tonight Johnson
Of the 4 you mention in the starting lineup,is Rowe better than Griffiths,Lindley better than Moke, Asante better than Nelson....in my opinion no.That leaves Ngundu over Barnes....again not really. In short his transfer dealings have been an absolute disaster and God knows how much these have cost the club as well as increasing the likelihood of us going down.Without a doubt a nightmare appointment.darloed19 wrote:What gets me is that we signed him to be a man manager, but has made (correct me if I am wrong) 12 signings and only 4 have made the starting 11 today with 1 making the bench… so out of 16 players 5 are his. Why wasn't Nelson in the squad? At least he is a striker. We are an utter shambles.
Come on Darlo!

Think it was mentioned he may have had a stomach bug, not 100% certain, but if he was fit to play that's a monumental mistake by Gowling not putting him on the bench.MikeinBlack2 wrote:Why wasn't Nelson in the squad? At least he is a striker. We are an utter shambles.

Re: Do it tonight Johnson
35 years watching Darlo and that yesterday was easily the very worst.
No fight, no passion, no creativity.
Our last home game Griffiths was fantastic, all of a sudden dropped. No options on the bench. Asante look dis-interested, Salkeld I have no idea what he is supposed to be but he genuinely looks like he’s never played the game before.
I thoroughly believe Johnston has the club best interest at heart so it’s time to admit a mistake been made and sort this out.

Re: Do it tonight Johnson
Not true. Griffiths was not dropped. He had a virus against Gloucester so didn't play. Rowe (supposedly) played well against Gloucester and got in the team of the week. Gowling probably decided to keep him in the team (plus we don't know how well Griffiths was). Salkeld had the same virus and wasn't very energetic yesterday, which in fairness to him, he normal is. Perhaps still feeling the effects.feethams wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2023 11:09 am35 years watching Darlo and that yesterday was easily the very worst.

Not a problem if people want to put facts out to have a go at players/Gowling, but don't want mis-truths spread...just like the Nelson thing
Re: Do it tonight Johnson
Then that’s fair play although still stand by my comments about Salkeld if he’s not 100% then play someone who is.D_F_C wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2023 12:38 pmNot true. Griffiths was not dropped.
