I thought Talbot was decent and a good kicker of the ball. Kicking seems to be Pears weakness, most of his kicks seem to be sliced. The rest of his game though is spot on.

Re Pears, Perhaps Tommy has been noted as being keener to work with and bring on youth than the previous incumbent of the Darlo hot seat, namely Mr M.G. and this is why we can obtain the likes of Pears from our bigger neighbours, when we couldn’t or didn’t before. Heckingbottom, who at present is our most successful ex player in management (couldn't resist it) was good at this tactic and it has done his career in management no harm at all

A Quote from the Chronicle when it seemed that Sunderland wanted Heckingbottom in. “Heckingbottom’s reputation for developing players has helped Barnsley make loan signings from the Premier League.”

Gray certainly didn’t seem to like bringing young players on to the Darlo pitch, opting instead for more proven options to obtain (hopefully) more instant success.

I think that's maybe a rose-tinted way of looking at it - I get the impression it is more a case of favours from our neighbours being all we can afford whereas Gray was given the money to bring in some of the best available at whatever level we were at.

Sadly some people have nothing better to do that invent rumours.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.
