We also had Anthony Callaghan, a left back who Gray signed, hardly used and then discarded. Now a regular for South Shields and was a cut above when they thumped us in the cup (also set up one of the goals). He was 21 when we signed him in 2015 and is progressing well now.

Sounds like O'Hanlon is what we need if we're playing 3 at the back - an attacking LB.

Sorry to hear about Marrs leaving, but it was inevitable I'm afraid. At times he had some really good games, but far too often he didn't deliver the goods. hope he does well at Dunston.

I suppose if Hunter is coming back soon we are covered on the right and so it makes sense to almost swap a right-back for a left-back.

Looks like TW has been given every assistance possible, within our means, to produce a side capable of climbing this league. We've splashed out 20 grand on a striker, he's brought in two full backs, a centre back and a winger as well as being able to bring in loan keepers. As he says in his interview, we now simply have to start producing some victories. Nothing else will do now.

He's also lost Beck, Ferguson, Bartlett and Cartman. Not insignificant.

as has been said. Galbraith could be the man to play on the left side of the 3 at the back. Unfortunately for this weekend both Mills and Brown are facing fitness tests and Portas is still out so we look a bit short, especially at CB.

Its a shame to see Marrs he was a solid player and certainly higher than Northern League quality. I think he suffered from being a bit of an old fashioned fullback. Unquestionably good defensively but these days full backs are expected to be quick and get beyond their wingers and that just wasn't his game. As others have said above in this case it made sense essentially swapping a LB for a RB.

I'd say Styche up front with Thompson and Gillies/Mills just behind.

Turnbull, Scott, Wheatley as a midfield three should offer enough cover for the defence between them, allowing at least one to be more attacking.

We struggle playing with four in midfield because none of our wingers are naturally inclined to defend, meaning our full backs are exposed.

But if Wright persists with three at the back, well let's just say I don't think it will work.

Who has been training at Boro and may yet be one of those progresses and brings in some cash, although not sure if we can claim any real role in this one.

Would have put others out before Marrs, however we do need to sort out the defence so if this is part of TW's solution then it has to be, and I just hope Ben O'Hanlon doesn't play like Ardal O'Hanlon.

But if Marrs is the only one attracting any interest and he isn't playing then its the obvious thing to do.

Good job we signed him, what with the Brown head injury putting Tezza in contention for a far more suited Centre Back role.
