Bradford Park Avenue v Darlington Match Thread
Re: Bradford Park Avenue v Darlington Match Thread
I think Al-Quaker hit the nail on the head. We aren't out of anything yet. 2 tough games coming up, if we can get a few points out of them then great.
Was reading some posts on twitter on Sat night and you'd have thought some of our fans thought we were already clear of relegation. Some of them were clearly trolling on social media, shame to see really especially when they could look stupid as we aren't out of anything yet

Was looking for the highlights on YouTube but couldn't find any link. I thought all games were being video'ed at the request of the NLN. Can anyone help, please?

Yes, I'm one that now believes we are out of relegation trouble because I just can't see us NOT picking up enough points to stay up, even if we lose the next two.
What has become clear from the last 4 matches is that we are a team that in reality, is a match for most sides in this league.
Since Boxing Day we have played and beaten Harrogate, Blyth and BPA from the top 7/8 and arguably could and should have got something from York and Salford, although belief was at rock bottom at that stage.
Earlier in the season we were losing to the bottom clubs and that was under Gray as well as Wright - but I think the penny has now dropped with the players regarding how hard we need to work against bottom clubs to get results.
Next 2 matches are very difficult - Brackley are unbeaten at home and Kiddy are the form team, but 4 of our next 6 matches are at home.
I think we'll be well clear after those matches - don't forget all of the bottom clubs will be playing and taking points off each other.
We need to forget the bottom and look at the 4/5 teams directly above us, claw them in and I'll lay money on one going into freefall - seems to always happen in a season no matter what league.

Nope I've just looked and there are none up at the moment. If you watch the TW interview on the official site, it shows Syers goal and the Tommo sending off.jjljks wrote:Was looking for the highlights on YouTube but couldn't find any link. Thanks. Camera efforts really appreciated and perhaps would be useful in defence of any appeal about Thommos second yellow? The lad seemed to slip on the difficult surface, but then picked himself up and went after the ball without any glance around or appeal for a foul. Even the first card was a bit harsh given the circumstances, being committed in midfield, tired legs, BPA desperately seeking equaliser, but obvious contact.feethamslad wrote:Link to highlights:Darlo_Pete wrote:Nope I've just looked and there are none up at the moment. Unfortunatly we can't appeal two yellow cards. If it had been a straight red then we'd had been able to appeal. Its a strange one because the referee admitted afterwards that he got Thommo's first booking wrong (when he collided with one of their players).jjljks wrote:Thanks. Appologies for the highlights being late up. I pulled them down in the morning after being told about a typo. I'd watched it twice as well before uploading it as well, so I'm not sure how I missed that one at all.

Actually, over the last five games we're as much a form team as Kiddy, both W3 D2.Quakerz wrote:Next 2 matches are very difficult - Brackley are unbeaten at home and Kiddy are the form team
(I hate to admit it but the current form team is Spenny (4W 1D)).

No mechanism for an appeal when a ref admits his first card was wrong, I take it?TFDM wrote:Its a strange one because the referee admitted afterwards that he got Thommo's first booking wrong (when he collided with one of their players).
