Vinny Steels - Transfer to York

Good luck to him in his move to a FT club, big potential for the lad and we can’t blame him for leaving.
But wish MG would do one.

Just goes to show that Gray couldn't care less about the club he said he loved. Don't blame Steels just Gray.

On the bench today for York reserves vs Hartlepool

Re: Vinny Steels - Transfer to York
Gray is all talk, the only person he cares about is himself, just wonder how long it will be before he tries for Heaton as he fits his type of player to a tee.Rumour has it he tried for other Darlo players as well, cannot stand the bloke and would love it if they missed out on promotion with McGill slashing his budget for next season.Would raise a glass for that without a shadow of a doubt.Darlo_Pete wrote:Just goes to show that Gray couldn't care less about the club he said he loved. Re: Vinny Steels - Transfer to York
No different to Wright signings players from Nuneaton - managers often go back for players they know well
Re: Vinny Steels - Transfer to York
I have lost track of how many "promising youngters" MG signed whilst with us, who made it through to the first team....................was it erm possibly one Saunders? Sorry Vinny but I don't fancy your chances at all!QUAKERMAN2 wrote:Gray is all talk, the only person he cares about is himself, just wonder how long it will be before he tries for Heaton as he fits his type of player to a tee.Rumour has it he tried for other Darlo players as well, cannot stand the bloke and would love it if they missed out on promotion with McGill slashing his budget for next season.Would raise a glass for that without a shadow of a doubt.Darlo_Pete wrote:Just goes to show that Gray couldn't care less about the club he said he loved. Presumably you're just as outraged at Tommy Wright poaching Mitchell Glover. Don't blame Glover, just Wright.Darlo_Pete wrote:Just goes to show that Gray couldn't care less about the club he said he loved. Don't blame Steels just Gray.
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883

Just noticed that Gray has also signed a young CF from Whitley Bay, no sign of him letting up, god knows what the total is now.

He’s actually signed four players today (three new signings and one loan made permanent). Busy man, that Martin.

Re: Vinny Steels - Transfer to York
Strange move by Alex Kempster, giving up two jobs for a full time contract until the end of the season. Either his jobs were shite or he's off his rocker!!
Re: Vinny Steels - Transfer to York
Good luck to the youngster, never seen him play so can't comment. Call me a cynic but MG will now be able to give it his "come on the BTEC its a route to the pro game" advert again.
Let's see where the lad figures. Getting rave performances in the Wearside League does not mean anything meaningful I'm afraid, it's quite a big step down even from where the RA play. No disrespect intended to anyone, just an observation on the standard there.

Re: Vinny Steels - Transfer to York
Bit surprised that Vinny turned down a trial at a Premiership club in order to go to York!
