Bottom 11 teams after tonight’s games, Tue Feb 27th 2018

Telford 1-2 Nuneaton

The Bottom 11 in the Vanarama National League North, Tue Feb 27th 2018 (Added Boston United as Nuneaton and Southport jumped over them)

My picks to go down, as of today, Telford, Gainsborough and North Ferriby.
No change this week. There are lots of big games (in importance) in the next 7 days that may change my prediction.

Saturday
Tamworth vs Darlington; We want to continue our good streak of form from February (3-0-1), Tamworth (Feb 0-2-2) should be desperate to find points, a draw would certainly be good for us, keeping Tamworth below us.

Alfreton vs Telford; Alfreton (Feb 1-1-2) need to get at least a point from this game to keep the three point cushion and superior goal difference.

Curzon Ashton vs Nuneaton; with Curzon Ashton losing today, they experienced the slide in the table that we felt last week with teams below picking up point(s), they have won seven points in February (2-1-2) but are only three points above 20th place Telford. Nuneaton (Feb 4-1-0) will be a tough opponent.

FCUM vs Gainsborough; February form FCUM (0-1-3 F0 A3) against Gainsborough (0-0-3 F0 A9). A massive game for both teams, I’m predicting 0-0, the point helps to doom Gainsborough, for FCUM battling on 37 points with Alfreton, Curzon Ashton & Tamworth, it might lift them a place or two, being very valuable at the end of the season in keeping them up.

Telford 1-2 Nuneaton; On a cold night, a second half goal 52nd min winner secures three points for Nuneaton, lifting them to 11th place, 9 points clear of Telford. Nuneaton’s excellent unbeaten February had three away wins at Spennymoor, Stockport and Telford, and a home win over FCUM, 4 wins and a draw in total.

Telford closed out a February (2-1-2) , all games were against Bottom 11 opponents, 4 home games finished with two wins over North Ferriby and FCUM, losses to Curzon Ashton and Nuneaton, a draw at Tamworth, not bad but not as strong as other teams who have pulled away, Telford remain in 20th place.

Thanks for the analysis, but looking at the weather in UK there is every chance that no games will get played this Saturday with Tamworth v Quakers as a possible exception given their artificial pitch. They will still have to clear terracing & ensure ground safety and our coach can get there! You may get the weekend off, Ginge

.
But if we play and win then we move up to 12th and 6 points of the play-offs with
9 games to go.
I fear a very busy weekend for Ginge with all possible permutations at top and bottom of league.

Really hope the Tamworth game is on. Currently stuck at home cut off in deepest Lincolnshire. Looking at the forecast most of the heaviest stuff misses Tamworth. Was really looking forward to it.

What's the weather like down that way? I'm in Grimsby tomorrow for a job interview that's all.

Hoping to be at the game on Saturday too.

Not supposed to be great Andy. Problem is that the high winds are going to last until tomorrow and are drifting snow back on to the road as soon as the ploughs have cleared it.
Having said that, Darlo to Grimsby is 100% motorway, so you might be OK.

I think the weather could be bad around Birmingham on Friday evening and Saturday morning. Pitch will be ok, but surrounding areas could be hazardous. Wouldn't be surprised if game was called off.
