Match on
Hope I am wrong but I think the crowd will be down today due to the freezing conditions. We could of been better off waiting a couple of weeks for a mild spring night and hoped to of picked up a few extra casuals. See at BM.
Re: Match on
Also, there'll be many like me who lives in Lincolnshire and didn't travel due to uncertainty about the snow.

Re: Match on
The way the snow showers keep coming down, I can see another pitch inspection taking place before kickoff. Bit of a lottery if anybody is coming any distance.

Re: Match on
Well my plan to get to Piccadilly Station and hang around until the pitch inspection before buying the train ticket has worked well so far. Now heading towards York. I just hope weather up in Darlington does not take a turn for the worse.
Re: Match on
Match on after pitch inspection, according to Ray Simpson on the club's website. Blizzarding in Teesdale, not sure I'm looking forward to this...

Respect The snow is not lying but still showers and temperature due to rise to +1C so you may get to see the lads. Just hope Darlo can turn it on and give you a reward.Darlo Dodger wrote:Well my plan to get to Piccadilly Station and hang around until the pitch inspection before buying the train ticket has worked well so far. Ginge will get an easy day to do his calculations!

Re: Match on
Brackley are playing in the FA Trophy semi-final against Wealdstone and it's on.
Re: Match on
Don’t think we’ve ever had such a good record of getting games on.
Re: Match on
It was money well spent, a much more level surface that drains well. The company that we brought in did a good job.

“He will be hammering the Trans Pennine drinks trolley in celebration I would think”
I was wondering & waiting in some trepidation for a reply telling me you were on the same train, especially when it stopped for some unexplained reason in the middle of nowhere outside Huddersfield. Making good progress now though.
“Sighing with relief” barely begins to cover it, but not yet hitting drinks trolley

Blizzard conditions on and of, hopefully it doesn't affect the decision to play.

Re: Match on
Snow beginning to lay where I live, hope the game is on for DD. Respect for travelling from Manchester. Bet the North Ferriby team and any of their fans that travel aren't looking forward to the journey home, as an Amber weather warning has been issued for the Humberside area for later on this afternoon.

All this respect is much appreciated but shouldn’t be overdone.Darlo_Pete wrote:Snow beginning to lay where I live, hope the game is on for DD. Respect for travelling from Manchester.
I need to declare an additional motive for attending today. One of my mates is having a birthday celebration and is taking a table for pre match hospitality at Blackwell Meadows. I’ve been invited to join the happy group so I’m heading up for a meal and a couple of beers whether or not the game goes ahead.
Thought I’d better make this clear as all this respect is making me feel slightly fraudulent.

Indeed.don'tbuythesun wrote:Ah, hence laying off the drinks trolley!
I’ll have plenty of time for all that after arriving.
If match had been postponed and meal wasn’t going ahead I’d have stayed in Manchester but even if it is all called off now we’ll still have a few drinks so the day won’t be a total write off.
I definitely won’t need any additional refreshments on the train.
(Which for information purposes and in the absence of MCFCDarlo3 is still making very good progress. Now well north of York and all going well.)

Hard to believe game is on - blizzards raging in Teesdale - is Darlo really escaping most of this?

Sunshine at the minute in Darlo, although we keep getting bits of snow but nothing that will really lay.jonn wrote:Hard to believe game is on - blizzards raging in Teesdale - is Darlo really escaping most of this?
