Yes, 400 investors

We have average gates of 1,400 this season, when you think how many of those fans will be children, students or people with absolutely no spare income - then 400 fans is an unbelievable chunk of our support
It's impressive, and a figure that will hopefully grow and grow year on year. It goes to show the potential something like this brings for the club - imagine we ever grew average gates to 2000 - you'd reasonably expect a 40-50% increase on boost the budget donations.

Really proud of this achievement. What a great advert for new players looking to come here. Last year I donated to the ground fund rather than boost the budget, I didn't see the point in having an amazing team only for us to be denied playoffs by the ground. This year mine, and many others it seems, money has gone into the BTB.

Hopefully we can be very well supported for the legends game in pre season and make another £10k or so on top of the £20k prize money. That's £110k of additional revenue that would not otherwise have come about if it wasn't for our incredible fans.

The feel good factor is well and truly back. Bright future ahead.

Quakerz, I've never been to bishop or Blackwell but chip in towards all sorts of things like this! Weve managed half a dozen games this year. Hopefully we'll get there next season, maybe in hospitality too. There may be more like me who love the club and what it stands for.

Incidentally, just when things were grinding to a halt that mysterious 4 grand was put in there which seemed to kick start it again, and it really has paid dividends. I'm just speculating here, but anything to do with the club e.g. A chunk of the Marathon Bet money?

No, an individual fan. We are very lucky to have so many fantastic contributions, large and small from so many fans.

Whose to say we couldn't aim for and get £100,000 next season.
Now the Gray factor has been eliminated, twice as many people are willing to chip in.
Absolutely fantastic achievement and way beyond anything I was expecting, and this will make a significant difference to TW's prospects for building a team to challenge for next years playoffs.

Best part of £86k - absolutely phenomenal, not just hit the target but stick another 7.5% on top!

Over to Tommy now, hopefully 2 or 3 really good signings plus Tezz signing and we give it a real go next season. Love Phil Turnbull's interview, cannot wait for August.

Does anyone know how our budget will now compare to last seasons?

No one knows for sure but given that the base budget was approximately a 40% cut on the budget (which is believed to be 284k playing budget), that would make a base budget of just 170k. Add 86k on and you have 256k.

But no one knows whether the 40% reduction is based on the budget as it is right now, or at the start of the season when it was considerably higher

So it will be less than this season's current playing budget - if I'm right (which I might not be)

Put it another way, we'd have been well in the s*** with no BTB, and players contracts still to honour.

I think there was an educated estimate from Quakerz suggesting that £80k would put us on £250k overall compared to the £284k Wright had been working with this season.

So if we're on £256k that's £28k less which is about 10% than what we've had this season.

I suppose getting rid of some of the dead wood (Caton, Burgess, Marrs and Mills) and perhaps Scott would probably bring us down to perhaps something just over £200k. You've then got Portas and Hunter who had a cost associated this season but featured very little due to injuries, so adding them back in to the playing numbers is cost-neutral.

With the above in mind, if we did manage to offload the five I've listed that would maybe give £50k worth of budget to spend on two or three players.

All guess-work of course.

We also need for the dead wood removal to be cost neutral because if we pay up some of all of the remainder of their contracts then that itself will eat into the small amount of available budget.

I think the fantastic fans would be a able to reach 100,000 if it was left open an extra couple of weeks, what fans what a good community club is being forged, the feel good factor is back with the club and fans.
Onwards and upwards with darlington fc.

Our current position is a million miles away from what it could have been too. In the light of recent developments I listened again to David Johnston's interview on DFR in January. An inherited debt of 65,000, a 300k plus budget which we couldn't afford and a projected shortfall of 90k by the end of the year. That's what we were facing.
