Is there any way of getting a ticket for the game at such short notice? I'm assuming not but thought I'd ask

If you're a member of the DFCSG then you can buy one online and pick it up at the game tomorrow. I got an e-mail from them. If you're not then I'm not sure.

I do not know if any, or how many, supporters are travelling to Manchester by train but any who do might like a pint or two in or around the city centre before heading to Broadhurst Park.
Travel to the ground is easy enough from the city centre, see the FC United travel hub on their web page (I can't post a link because I'm only allowed 3 and they are all below).

Victoria Station for the tram, is near enough to The Northern Quarter and there are plenty of decent pubs and bars there. This link gives you a selection though some are a bit of a walk from Vicoria Station

For those who want to stay in the city centre and /or near to Piccadilly Station and then go to the ground either by the 182 (or from Victoria station after a bit of a walk) then Piccadilly Tap on Piccadilly station approach is as good a place to start as any.

I also really like Beermoth in Brown Street. It is a good size for fans and Brown Street is just off the middle of Market Street. A reasonably easy walk from there to either Piccadilly or Victoria Station.

I will be starting my pre match refreshments at Piccadilly Tap but where I go from there is anyone's guess.

Cheers

You need to get in touch with Neil Raper to get him to resend the e-mail.

Yeah, I've emailed but expect it's too late for him to get it.

It was a long shot anyway

Not sure why they made it all-ticket in the first place. They need every £ they can lay hands on and crowd numbers are crucial. There was no trouble last year, in fact we had great craic drinking with their fans in the former old miners working men's club near the ground, comparing notes on the problems of being a fan-owned club. They were worried that their income was not enough to finish the development of their stadium (away fans end covered but without any terracing so very poor viewing) and sustain funding of their team in terms of wages and transfer fees. Familiar story :?: :!:

We had a very good following, great sunny day and a brilliant result. It helps if us tall ones stand at the back. Think you're wrong there was no trouble, though as there was stuff on here that didn't have any follow up-I saw nothing and had a good chat with FC fans who were decent.

Ah well I've emailed and tweeted both clubs on the off chance of having a ticket put aside, and while it's still early, I'm not holding out much hope. Good job we can listen to it :)

Someone on The Tin Shed reckons that there's a cash turn style open at the away end. Unlikely I would have thought, as it's police advice to make it all ticket, but give FCUtd a ring.

It's not an all-ticket game, their fans can pay at the turnstiles. It's a segregated game with tickets for Darlington fans.

I got through in the end, they confirmed a cash turnstile to be opened as soon as they took receipt of unsold tickets. :)
