Re: Joe Wheatley
Great news for Joe and the club, well done Wrightey.
Re: Joe Wheatley
Great news
Re: Joe Wheatley
It's good news for him and the club. He has played an increasingly important role in central midfield.
Re: Joe Wheatley
Excellent news
Re: Joe Wheatley
Wheatley's progression as a player really stood out against Spenny. Seeing him up against players like Chandler and Ramshaw, you really wouldn't swop him if given the chance. Once he adds goals to his game - and he has been really unlucky in that respect - he can be the complete midfielder. Last night's game backed up what a good move it was to get this contract done and dusted.
Re: Joe Wheatley
Wouldnt want the badge kissing mercenary Chandler anywhere near Darlo anyway.
Ramshaw on the other hand I would have without a second thought. But since he follows Chandler everywhere I doubt we would ever get him.

Re: Joe Wheatley
He certainly messed up that chance in the first half in front of the Darlo fans. But great news for him and the team, well done Tommy and Joe.

Re: Joe Wheatley
I've always said I'd have Ramshaw he is a class player but like you said he follows Chandler like a puppy so your right no chance... Shame really
Re: Joe Wheatley
Certainly different to what I remember - I remember him being excellent during his loan spelltezza wrote:loan_star wrote:Wouldnt want the badge kissing mercenary Chandler anywhere near Darlo anyway.

Re: Joe Wheatley
Yep thought Ramshaw done ok for us, wouldn't say outstanding but decent enough.divas wrote:Certainly different to what I remember - I remember him being excellent during his loan spelltezza wrote:loan_star wrote:Wouldnt want the badge kissing mercenary Chandler anywhere near Darlo anyway.

Gets rave reviews at Spenny and seemed decent enough to me, I would have him in our squad although it's not an option so doesn't matter.
Re: Joe Wheatley
Absolutely right. Wheatley had a cracking game last night & he is gaining in confidence all the time. Shame about his lack of goals, but this will come as his self-belief continues to grow. Already hit the woodwork in several matches and starting to get involved with the free-kicks and action around the box. Another season with us and then I can see him playing much further up the leagues. A great prospect and the new contract has just capped a really good seasonLoidLucan wrote:Wheatley's progression as a player really stood out against Spenny. As I remember it. He played 5 games for us and got voted Man of the Match on 4 of them. Was a great asses to us during the period.
Re: Joe Wheatley
We had Ramshaw on loan from Gateshead and he did reasonably well but then went back to Gateshead and ended up being a regular for them. Hes a good player, simple as that.
From what I understand we did try to sign him after his release from Gateshead but he ended up following the vibes up the road.

Re: Joe Wheatley
Of course he was a Darlo youth player long before this and was part of Craig Liddle's make do and mend team of 2012, when we couldn't sign players and had to make up numbers with the youth team.loan_star wrote:We had Ramshaw on loan from Gateshead and he did reasonably well but then went back to Gateshead and ended up being a regular for them. Re: Joe Wheatley
And that Fewster lad who was on our team photo until he heard the "vibe". Did anyone notice he came on for Ramshaw last night? Something's gone badly wrong for him there, he's only a bit-part player and can't hit a cow's arse with a banjo.Quakerz wrote:Along with Chandler, Curtis and Craddock.

Re: Joe Wheatley
The "vibe" are still in the playoffs and wouldn't count them out in one off cup ties.
Re: Joe Wheatley
Wonder what has happened with Foley, looked a very good player at our place but quite often he does not even make the bench.Wonder if there has been a fall out with AinsleyLoidLucan wrote:And that Fewster lad who was on our team photo until he heard the "vibe". Re: Joe Wheatley
There's rumours linking us with Foley over the summer.

Hope not, much better options out there.Darlofan97 wrote:There's rumours linking us with Foley over the summer.
Re: Joe Wheatley
Spenny paid Foley a five-figure signing on fee to secure his services last summer. I think he signed a two-year deal.

Re: Joe Wheatley
Not too sure. Scored 7 goals this season for Spennymoor in limited appearances. Seems similar to Thompson in terms of pace and is equally as comfortable on his left or right. Scored a great goal against us at BM back in August.Darlo2807 wrote:Hope not, much better options out there.Darlofan97 wrote:There's rumours linking us with Foley over the summer.

Limited appearances for a side relatively similar to us concerns me though.Darlofan97 wrote:Not too sure. Scored 7 goals this season for Spennymoor in limited appearances. We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.
