Have to admit our pitch last season was a big step up from the previous season. Even towards the end of the season there was plenty of grass in almost all areas. Does anybody know if we're planning to do much with it in the close season, because if we don't then that will be a decent saving for the budget, as we had to spend quite a bit a year ago on getting a new pitch?

Was down BM last Sunday and the patch that was holding water and froze at times (in front of tin shed) appeared to have been dug up and re seeded

The money spent on the pitch last year was raised independently of the playing budget. So why would not spending on the pitch this season save money from the playing budget?

Because any money that had to be spent on the pitch this season, would have to be raised by the club and that could affect the playing budget and what is available.

Well that will have all been factored in to the equation before they set the base playing budget and BTB target.

It isn't 'ours' - we just rent it.
Any money saved on the grass should go into a long-term saving account for when we get a chance to own ourselves a ground.

Yes, and we raised twice as much through boost the budget this season, so that's probably part of it.

Those that might have put money towards the pitch or stand may have diverted that money towards the playing budget this time.

Which of course wouldn't have been the case if you'd had your pay, Pete, and we'd all funded Martin Gray's playing budget over paying for the ground upgrade - because we'd still be fundraising for the ground upgrade this summer.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.
