Chester riches

See that Stuart Murphy is giving Chester FC £1m over three years - “mainly for infrastructure purposes”. How the other half live!

Apologies I managed to post this twice. Not sure how to delete this duplicate. Moderator can assist?

I believe they will still be part-time and the extra money is clearly not going into the playing budget, so I doubt they'll be challenging for honours.

Then you don't know what you are taking about.

As one of the bigger clubs in the division they will naturally have one of the bigger part time budgets regardless of whether this fan puts any extra in.

Of course some of the £333,333 per season will go into the playing budget, even if they claim it won't!

They have two winners in charge, who know the scene, know the NW, and have proven that they can succeed with P/T and F/T budgets, small budgets and big budgets.

Anyone who doesn't think Chester are likely to be in or around the play offs is an absolute plum.

I expect they will be challenging right up at the top. My best hopes for us this season are to challenge for the playoffs. We need to grow our crowds now we are back in the town. The longer it takes to do this, the harder it will be to compete with the likes of Chester and Hereford.

Our best hopes for this sort of thing are a nice Josh Heaton sell-on clause in a couple of years.

MG may also cop for some sell-on clause cash to fund his spending habit if Ben Godfrey deal goes through, allegedly six figures, not that the original transfer had anything to do with MG. Spawny or what?
