Ashton United on Monday

Post by grytters » Sat Aug 25, 2018 4:52 pm

If anyone's got pre-booked train tickets from what I've seen on here.

There's Creamfields and Gay Pride this weekend in Manchester.

I'm going to the match by car and you'll go nowhere near the city centre. I can't see very many going by train, most will go by coach or car.

I missed game on Sat as at Rugby League cup final at Wembley, so definitely going to the game on Monday, as also missing next Sat game as well due to attending a wedding. Hope TW gets the team sorted as really looking forward to the game.

Is it too early to call this a "must win" game?

I'd say not - we need to arrest this alarming slide. If we lose at Ashton we'll definitely get beaten by Alfreton and 1-2-5 would be an appalling start.

Beat Ashton and it could be the start of a turnaround - though I still think we'll be lucky to get a result against Alfreton.

After yesterday I've no idea how many will make the trip, hopefully a couple of hundred.

Couldn't do yesterday due to a wedding so was looking forward to traveling to Ashton tomorrow but after that result I'm going to give it a miss.

Knowing Darlo, we'll probably play far better and record a convincing win.

Goodness knows what side we'll put out today, but hopefully they'll be changes and not to just cover the injuries from Saturday.

I would have thought today's team would be;

................... Maddison

Trottman.....Burn.....Ainge......Phantom

Thompson.... Elliott.... Syers...... Henshall/ Nicholson

Styche......Saunders.

Let's hope they don't ghost past our left back too often.

Can't get too exorcised over who plays full back, so long as we win ;)

Nice to see people getting into the spirit of the occasion.

Far too early to worry about the spectre of relegation, but three points would be nice all the same.

Nah, fans want to see exciting football, you know. Fans don't like defensive competence, or something.

I might have missed this, but here's Henshall? Not in the 16 for Alty or today.

17 goals (and counting) conceded in 7 games. Feck me. We really are a soft touch now.

Sorry but this reign of TW is heading south and fast, almost as if the players have given up the ghost... :shifty:

This must be a record surely, absolutely wafer thin at the back but I have said it before, the way our 2 full backs keep bombing forward things will never change.Surely Tommy has to look at the way he sets us up.
