On Saturday 20th October DFCSG are planning to host a Race Night to raise funds for OUR FOOTBALL CLUB. Venue is Holy Family Social Club, Prior Street, Cockerton, doors open at 7.30 for a 8.00pm start.

Tickets for the event will be £5 per person and will be strictly over 18’s only, as we will providing our own bar with beer, cider and wine and soft drinks which you can buy during the night.

The premise of a Race Night is very straight forward: there are 8 horse races which have been recorded and will be played during the night. Before a race starts people place bets on a horse (8 horses per race) for £1 per betting ticket. The race is played on the big screen and the those who bet on the winning horse will win cash depending on the relevant odds. Easy!!

To raise funds before the night we are offering the chance for people to become 'OWNERS' of horses for the 7 races. As an 'OWNER' you get naming rights for a horse (it can be anything you want) and the winning 'OWNER' of a race gets a bottle of Prosecco! It cost £10 per horse and you can buy as many as you want.

Each of the races needs to have an overall sponsor, so anyone interested in being the race sponsor with their name or company and logo please contact below, the cost of this including an advert in the race programme is £50

Let us know ASAP if you would like to become an 'OWNER' as all names will be printed in
the Race Night Programme.

The final race of the night will be an AUCTION where we will be selling off each horse to the highest bidder (who gets to name the horse). When all 8 horses have been sold people will bet and the race will be run. The winning 'OWNER' gets 50% of the takings for the race (which could be a lot of money!)

I am also available at fans table at BM home games, information and tickets can also be obtained at Quaker retail in the Dolphin Centre Monday to Friday 10.00am to 1.00pm and online at our DFCSG website.

For tickets and race and owner sponsorships, I would like all the spaces to be filled by the end of September, so the race card can be printed in time.

We have a maximum of 120 tickets available, we look forward to seeing you for a fun night out!

Sounds like a great night, I'll try and drag one of my lads to the night as well.

Rob I'd imagine there will be plenty of people buying tickets and showing interest on Saturday.

Up take is slow at moment hopefully the momentum will pick up, unfortunately I wont be at game on Saturday, so if you need to buy a ticket or sponsor a horse can you please see Lynn in the QR unit, they will take your details and money !

My good friend Sean Hadland will be at game today selling tickets and asking for horse sponsorships, he will be in the bar, you can also purchase same from QR unit outside the ground.

We need a big push on this event, I will be at BM on Saturday in the bar area, please buy a ticket for the event and sponsor a horse if you can, 100 % of the cash raised goes back into the club.

Don't think I can make the night Rob but will sponser a horse. Let me know how much and will drop it to you at Saturday's match.

Another call on here, we need bodies to attend on the night to make this a success, so please buy a ticket and come along,from me QR or on line.
I have asked the players to buy a horse and I believe that the majority will, I will know by the weekend when we collect the sheet from training.

All horses and all races are now sponsored which is absolutely brilliant and I thank everyone including all of the DFC players and staff, Terry Galbraith a great help on this !
Now we just need a good turnout on the night to raise some serious money so please make an effort to buy a ticket and come along!

We had a brilliant night and nearly a hundred attended great to see Harvey Saunders and family there, when all the money is in the night raised £1800, lets try to get another £1200 when we have The Silly Things on 17th November at The Cleveland Club

Have to admit I actually made a very small profit on the racing. One of my lads actually won on the first 4 races, sorry Rob.
