Durham Challenge Cup

We have a home draw against Stockton Town to be played in the week before the 22 December, probably on the 19th then. I know we don’t rate this cup, but if I remember right they stuffed us last time we played them, I’ve watched them a couple of times this season they play some good fast football.

Hopefully if we play some of our first team like the last round, then we can give them a tougher game than last time.

At least we can concentrate on this now and not have the distraction of a possible trip to Wembley after tonight.

Anyone know why we are playing this game on a Tuesday night which clashes with Boro playing in the cup qf?

The club told me Tuesday is our designated midweek night which was news to me.

Stockton would have brought a few but it’s unlikely now. Missed opportunity if you ask me.

Probably because Tuesday is a training night so it means the players don’t have to travel twice in two days.
And is it something the club should have to explain?.

Thanks for that, sadly I'll be on a 2 to 10 shift that week, so won't be able to make it.

Neither will my mates as Boro play that night. We all live and work in Stockton. They are Boro season ticket holders whereas mine is Darlo. We all support Stockton though. So my disappointment at the scheduling is entirely personal.

For me this game now has a whole new perspective, its ideal timing for our new players to get to know each other better without the pressure of a league game, another 2 signings to come in hopefully in time for this match, it will be a wasted opportunity if TW uses this match to give the youngsters a go, but, in our current predicament we need this game to get us ready for Saturday .
Stockton Town are a decent side who will well up to beat us again.

I'd expect us to field a much stronger team than usual, featuring all of the new players.
